Default [Win a $250 giftcard] If you can splurge on 1 piece of clothing what would it be?

This is one of the official Marshalls $250 giveaway threads.

Marshalls is giving away a $250 gift card to a randomly selected Wise Bread reader in this thread. This is part of their promotion to raise awareness for the new Megashoe sections in their stores.

How to participate

Just post a comment in this thread. You must be a current US resident and be 18 or over. We'll randomly pick a winner from this thread on 3/22/09.

The topic

If you can splurge on one piece of clothing or accessory, what would it be? Would it be shoes, a nice piece of jewelry, or a fancy messenger bag?

Two other ways to win

This topic not your cup of tea? There are two other ways to enter. You can fill out this entry form or you can leave a comment on this other topic:

How would you spend $250 at a bargain store like Marshalls?

You can try to enter all three ways, but you can only win once.

I'd buy some new shoes. Something not black or brown (red?)

I would buy the perfect little black dress, so it would never go out of style and I would always have something to wear that is versatile. Just add accessories.

Default Shoes

I would buy a good sturdy pair of leather soled shoes. I have some that I have had for years, re-soled once. They're very comfortable and seem like they will last forever.

I would buy a high quality handbag. One that goes with anything and can be worn day or night... probably black with silvertone hardware.

Default A suit!

I would splurge on a dark suit. One great suit can be useful for a wide array of functions, from weddings to funerals and job interviews to fancier dates.

Also, it's something a guy can put on, look in the mirror, and feel instantly empowered and as confident as ever. Even that little boost can make the difference between an effective day and a defeating one.

Wink one splurge

If I had to pick just one, it would be a good pair of shoes. Something that would go with everything and even though I love the look of heals, I would get a flat because I never really wear the heals much. And they would have to be leather.

As much as I love handbags and shoes for me, I would get shoes for my twelve year old son who is about to have the same age and shoe size. He needs all new shoes - athletic, dress, casual...
