Talking Any Gamers Here?

Online or offline?

I'll start. I brought a Playstation 2 last year on the premise that it was for my 9 year old but I have to admit I'm almost addicted to Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf (mine's the 95 version).

It's a hangup from Sega Megadrive days when I played PGA tour golf too. Oh how much it's evolved, lol.

I've done all the pro challenges and beaten everyone *except* Tiger Woods, which is very irritating, you have to be so consistent to beat him and my nerves get in the way, lol. I can't imagine what it would be like to play him in person!

Anyway, anyone else almost addicted to gaming? It's a great way to relax

Well, addicted is a strong word, but I do love gaming. I have an Xbox 360 and I've also been hooked on both Tiger Woods 07 and 08. I beat 07, but haven't gotten around to finishing off 08 yet. My real vice is the Guitar Hero series and Rock Band. I'm a musician at heart, so these games are just amazing to me. I can't say that they allow me to relax though, since I can get pretty frustrated when trying to play songs on the hardest difficulty.

I've actually never owned a video game system... But I might buy a Nintendo DS lite, if I can find one for less than 100 dollars. That + the R4 thing that can hold 2 gigs of downloaded games... is hot. Way better than having to buy all the games (waste!)

Hi Jeremy,

I was watching Ellen the other day and she had a 10 year old boy on who was fantastic at Guitar Hero, I must agree with you, it looks like it's full on and it doesn't look very relaxing!

I'm envious, you beat Tiger Woods, lol

I have shared care arrangements regarding my son and he has a Nintendo DS (and an xbox 360 which he's just brought for himself after a year of saving - go darling!). He loves his DS and gaming in general. He does do his homework first though, bless him

Good luck with finding the DS for less than $100, I'm sure it'll be out there somewhere. You could look at New Zealand web sites, the exchange rate is in your favor and I'm betting it'd be cheaper to pay for postage than to buy from the States. Actually that's an assumption that you live in the States I guess.

I check craigslist for a good deal every week or so. There was one a few blocks away for 125 with 3 games, but <100 is just sweeter/more satisfying. I don't need to get a great deal on it, but then again I don't need it period... so why not wait .

my hubby is a huge gamer...so much so that he quit his job to work for a game developer. We have pretty much all the popular platforms right now and we have wayyy too many games. He has cut down on his game purchasing though, but he keeps on complaining about his frugal wife on his blog.

This is my hubby's blog: http://schlaghund.wordpress.com and here's a post where he called me frugal: http://schlaghund.wordpress.com/2007...r-budget-band/

I think the first post on the blog currently says he's married to a penny-pincher, and he wanted to write a whole series about "Being the Baglady's Husband...or Bagman". I think it's a pretty funny idea, and I can't wait to read it. He is a pretty good writer.

Aww, I'm old school here; Mario Brothers 1, 2 and 3 were my favorites. I also borrowed my friend's Legend of Zelda and remember playing it non-stop the entire weekend and having my mom yell at me.
