Reputation: | My wife was recently hospitalized for blood clot in her leg. Upon discharge she was issued a prescription of LOVENOX which was to be taken two injections per day for 5 days along with a prescription of Coumadin which takes a few days (about 3) to work. The LOVENOX is packaged individually preloaded injections at 10/box at a cost of $1143.99 (Walgreen's retail cost). They don't take refunds/give credit of unused injections, so I have to eat the $114.39 per injection not used (two for us $228.78). They also push the entire box of LOVENOX rather than sell the appropriate number of injections required. They should sell the meds at 6 injections, with another script for 2 with a refill. It would save consumers like us from being stuck with unneeded costly meds. I believe LOVENOX knows this but are pushing the providers into issuing unnecessary amounts at the cost of the consumer. I say............. BEWARE of this practice. |

Reputation: | This is a great resource to check on a regular basis. It has a vast array of information, violation reports, company information, product recalls, the latest warnings, health notices etc. Consumer Product Safety Commission http://www.cpsc.gov/sitemap.html hey, we pay for all of this with taxes, so we might as well use it.
