Arrow Can we edit our own posts?

I've edited my posts here before but for some reason, I can't find the edit button tonight. Is it me?

Just checking because I seem to have the option only on the above post but not the rest of mine.

**edited** That's weird because I can edit this post and the one above this, but not any of my other ones. Just curious, is there a time limit to edit posts?

Hi Joanne, I think there might be a default setting in vBulletin. I'll look into it.

You may edit posts for up to an hour after it was posted.

This time limit exists so we don't get posts edited days later making nonsensical threads.

Yes, the time limit is definitely a good idea. Allowing unlimited edits can lead to all kinds of trouble. People can retroactively change their writings, destroying the flow of conversation in the process, etc. Editing for a short period after the original posting is OK by me though, as it helps with fixing typoes and such.

Yes, you can edit your post but I think their is a time limit in which you can edit it I think a couple of hours or so.

You can edit it as long as it has not been more than 1 hour since you posted it. Had the same situation as well, I thought I did something wrong which caused the edit button to dissapear.

I have experience that time limit before in other forum so I make sure that my post is complete and read it again for some corrections if there is to edit at once.
