Reputation: | I've never returned items at the grocery store, though there are some that I should. Has anyone noticed that sometimes grocery stores don't rotate their stock as they should (expired products are on the shelves, requiring me to take off my glasses that I need to see directional signs so that I can inspect expiration) and that sometimes there are sales on soon-to-be expired items (the clerk in Walgreens pointed this out to me in regard to an on-sale bag of chocolate)? I can guarantee there was a time (at least ONE time) in your life that you did something dishonest...maybe even as an adult or at least a kid. Now, the way I see it, your behavior is "pathetic" as you put it, pointing a finger at another for the sake of making her feel awful. She was asking for an OPINION, not a character bashing. The wise thing would have been to just stick to answering her question without making it a personal attack. Between the lines, you called her an awful person. I find THAT puts me in a bad mood. Enough said. Last edited by changed4life; 03-26-2008 at 12:53 PM. | |

Reputation: | As far as the ethics, and just having others look at me while I stood in line to return groceries, it's not for me personally. As far as the food aspect of the issue, you could use the opportunity to have friends over for a pasta/movie night. I like to make lasagna and make a second one to freeze while I'm at it. You can make and freeze ziti and other dishes as well. |
