Reputation: | Am I the only one that keeps a big fat file called "IDEAS"?? I started it when I was a kid, and it is still the most important file in my cabinet. It is full of napkins, matchbook covers, papers and anything else I wrote on when the idea hit me, lol. Anytime an idea strikes me, I jot it down. Some are one sentence "fixes" for a problem, some are elaborate multipage business plans, some are retail, wholesale, networks, inventions, improvements, high tech, low tech, no tech...you name it and it is in there! I have lived to see several of my ideas turn into successful business ventures (for others) a couple years after I put them in my folder. Fortunately, I have also lived to see some of them turn into successful ventures for me. One thing is for sure, I have more ideas in there than I have time to pursue. If I had one thing to suggest to anyone in life...it would be to start one if you have not already. You will be amazed at what it can do for you. (besides convincing people you really are very eccentric, or just "nuts", lol) Anybody else keep one??

Reputation: | I don't have a file but I do write down ideas when they come to me. Especially when I am starting a new project. I keep a pad of paper and pencil on the night stand, because I will wake up with an idea and if I don't jot it down right then and there, I will forget! --- |

Reputation: | Yep. Part inventions, nutty observations, gesture drawings...and lists.LOTS OF LISTS. Some make perfect sense at the time, following a particular train of thought (from an article I read or a conversation I had, that later sparks an idea).I fold them into several projects (none have made me money so far) or design of some sort. Alot start with a TED Talk...Ideas Worth Spreading. They always start a thread of ideas! http://www.ted.com/talks Best Talkers yet-Becky Blanton - The year i was homeless Barry Schwartz - on the paradox of choice Malcolm Gladwell - on Spaghetti Sauce
