Any new updates in this department? I've been working on a Volusion shop for a couple of days, and I want to poke myself in the eye. It clearly isn't going to work for me.

Other ideas welcome.

Have you tried Miva Merchant recently? Version 5.5 is really customizable out of the box, much different than older versions from a year or two back.
