I'm on Facebook. I find it the best way to keep in contact with friends and family. I travel around a fair bit and I'm always losing phones and phone numbers so facebook is a godsend. I only wish it had a POP email feature.

As for applications, I spend enough time just messaging people so that would be too much of a distraction..!

be careful there are many fake profiles on facebook

I'm on Facebook. I've found it's a good way to keep in touch with people from high school and elsewhere. A lot more convenient than a huge contact book.

I haven't had much time to spend on facebook lately, but the increasing number of spammy applications and spam notifications is starting to get to me. Some of the apps are good, but most of them are kind of pointless. I have some friends who seem to spend all their time sending app requests. I was really glad when they came out with the "ignore all" button.

I've completely stopped paying attention to all the notifications I get. I update my status occasionally but mostly I just use it to keep track of what my friends are up to and let them know how I'm doing. It's certainly useful in that regard.

Poker is one of my hobbies and Facebook has very good poker applications. It enables you to play with people from all over the world and more importantly with your friends and family. I like Texas No Limit Hold 'Em because there's a ranking system which tracks how many chips your friends on Facebook have. Really cool if you're a poker fanatic. It's really cool to have 5 Million in chips, It would have been greater if you can send it to PayPal though. LOL!

I use facebook. The only app I use is the family tree one. Other than that, I feel it gets a little too much like myspace and gets really cluttered
