I think most actually do this.. When I read a book I tend to include myself there or be one of the characters in the book. I enjoy it and I don't care if it's geeky. LOL

I named my form personality after an obscure Lord of the Rings character.

Whhooo-boy...where to start.
- I've been known to utter a quiet "whee!!!" when the stylist lets the chair down when I'm getting my hair cut.
- I take my lunch to work in a rocketship lunchbox every day...and I'm 32 years old and an engineer.
- I do a little "chair dance of joy", occasionally accompanied by a quiet "whoo-hoo!" when I finally figure out something that wasn't working on the computer (usually at work).
- Whenever I teach high school Sunday school, I incorporate a dinosaur into the lesson or at least into the announcements. The kids know that I'm teaching when there's a dinosaur drawn on the board.
- I was very excited to find a new and more efficient way to tie my shoes a few months ago.
- I like playing around with all the features and buttons and things in cars, especially rental cars.
- I still think digital watches are cool...and regularly speak obscure quotes from not terribly well known books, movies and the occasional television show.
- My work coffee mug has the Independents' flag on it, from the Firefly/Serenity.
- I went to Space Camp for a week last year...and am looking forward to go going back sometime within the next three or four years.

The list goes on.

Ah ha! Now I've got one thanks to beren. I named my forum personality after a prominent Harry Potter character.

Oh, this is from before. I used to be totally obsessed with Star Wars when I was a in college. I was a music major my freshman year, and I used to sit around the music building with other SW freaks and we used to play Star Wars trivia and listen to my SW soundtracks and talk about them.

Ooh, and I own a copy of SW Trivia Pursuit.

-check, husband is even worse and will do this for months when we purchase a new vehicle (2 in past 6 months)
-check....check, husband is a encyclopedia of random references and quotes. Normally at a rate of about a dozen an hour.

So much lightsaber-related weirdness! I still avoid cracks on the ground.

I do the same when I play "skateboard" with my shopping cart. I pretend I'm Calvin on his toboggan.

I've been having fun with leap year/leap day for the past few weeks. It all started when I bought a gallon of milk that had an expiration date of 29 February. No idea why, but that just seemed kinda cool to me. Something I didn't remember doing.

I just made some changes to a databse file at work, when we do this, we include the date the change was made. It makes me smile to think that for the next however many years (and it's likely to be very, very many), we'll have a change date stamp of 29 February with my name next to it.

I also used "gruntled" in a sentence earlier this morning...meaning the opposite of disgruntled....I really need to stop reading so many comedy screen writer's blogs.

I occasionally do this with a shopping cart when I'm out grocery shopping with my fiancee. It makes grocery shopping much more fun, though the other shoppers probably think I'm a total nut.
