Default Geeky things you do (confession thread)

When I wave my umbrella around to get rid of the water, I make zooming sounds and pretend they are lightsabers.

i like to make fun of the science in tv...for example.. the last episode of sarah connor chronicles had a huge mistake. They had a guy who had AB negative blood, and then this woman says, sarah connor is O negative. Then John Connor says to test him, and he turns out to be AB negative. I was sitting there thinking oh my god Sarah Connor is not John Connor's mom!! But the show didn't say anything about it!! So I think it was just a mistake. Anyway...there are a lot of stupid and nonsensical science in movies and TV.

@ Xin Lu, science in shows amuses me too, I love watching crime shows where they run DNA tests in about 20 minutes, I'm always thinking that PCR took a long longer when I was in uni.

The light saber (custom made from www.thecustomsabershop.com by my husband) is the brightest flashlight in the house, even compared to the LED maglite (which is 1watt, light saber is 3watts) so when the poer goes out we walk around the entire neighborhood with it. So in the middle of the night in complete silence the neighbors who are sitting there peacefully hear *zooom, crash, zrooom* as an approaching colored bar comes at them. Needless to say sometimes it freaks out new people.

My husband packages his lunch stuff by weight using the postal scale not the cup measurements. And probably a dozen other geeky things.

When I drive, I make driving noises when turning corners. "Vrooom.... eeeeeeeeeee, vrooom vrooom." Most of the time I only do it alone.

Most of the time.

I've been known to give a freshly made sandwich the John Belushi Samurai Delicatessen treatment.

I like to wave my hand in front of automatic sliding doors at the supermarket and pretend that I'm opening them with "The Force."

The first time I read this thread, I couldn't think of a thing.

Now things are coming to me...

I pretend that I am making the traffic light turn green by pronouncing, "change, light!" when the other light turns red.

Me too! But I know I do tons of geeky things because I think I'm really weird. I just can't think of them. Hmm... is that geeky?

My dad did that when I was a little kid. I was always amazed at how he was able to predict the change. It was a sad day when I discovered that he cheated by looking at when the other signal lights turned yellow.
