Reputation: | I'm one of the worst procrastinators on this planet. Around Dec. 31st I start telling myself to get my stuff together and get my taxes done early so I avoid that annual high-blood pressure spike when April rolls around. But do I listen to myself? Of course not. For someone who blogs about good financial habits, this is one of the ugliest in my very large just-for-my-skeleton-collection closet. So I just finally got started tonight/last night around 9 or 10PM April 11th. And let me tell you, keeping good records really helps in a situation like this, and of course my records are my 2nd ugliest skeleton! I can feel my naturally low blood pressure rise each day as April 15th draws nearer, and it spikes a little more every time I think, hear or say the word "taxes." Why do I do this to myself? It's so self-destructive and just asking for trouble. That's a procrastinator for you. So I'm just curious about how many people have finished their taxes and how many haven't. And of course this post is another way of procrastinating ... The first (and possibly only) "no" vote in the poll would be moi.

Reputation: | I got mine done back in February. Had my refund before most had filed. Got them done for free too since my preparer screwed up my taxes last year! |

Reputation: | I'm guessing that people who get W-2's and refunds must do their taxes sooner. I do my own and owe so I wait ... often too long and then it's several days of torture in April. I've finished my "first draft" - filled out all the pdf forms - and gotta check the numbers, print and send them off. What an ordeal!

Reputation: | ..here in Canada. I got our submitted on April 29th. Already got my tax refund a week later by direct deposit. Put it to use right away to paying off some debt, while using some of it to lift my chequing account minimum balance to avoid monthly fees. RICKLEE |
