Reputation: | I'm just curious...I find I get less effective after 3 or 4, but I often have some open to read later. I could bookmark them, but I find it more effective to keep them open. There might be a way to move them to another window but I haven't looked yet. Right now I have 8.

Reputation: | If you use Firefox, I recommend Read it Later (http://www.ideashower.com/ideas/launched/read-it-later/). I have at least a hundred documents I don't really need formally bookmarked but want to take a look at saved with that extension. I usually use a combination of windows and tabs though. One window for each topic and then several tabs (or sub-topics) per window. On average, I run somewhere between six and 15 tabs open in total. When I do research it's usually upwards of 30-40 though. Edit: Just realized I forgot to answer the question (oops!)... Seven tabs at the moment. Last edited by rabidpotatochip; 03-10-2009 at 11:47 AM. |

Reputation: | Right now, I've got five tabs open. That's probably about average, especially when I'm at work. When I get a few minutes, I'll read through whatever I've got open and then close them. When I finish those, I'll scroll through my Google reader page and look for other interersting things to read when I've got a minute. I often have two to five minutes of downtime many, many times throughout the day while I'm at work while my computer runs something. So this works for me. |

Reputation: | Right now, I have 4 tabs open, which is actually very low for me. I'm the multi-tasking type and I think I average 8 or so tabs, especially when I'm working on my websites or blogging.

Reputation: | I've got one open right now, but when I'm browsing personal finance blogs I usually have 15 open. I go through each of them one at a time, and close the tabs as I finish reading. |
