Default How Viable Is Bartering?

For starters, I'll say that we are biased, because our company is very successful at what it does and has a 10 year proven track record of helping thousands of companies barter better.

That out of the way, I'm just curious, since we're still in a recession and bartering is being talked about more and more in the media. I'd be interested to hear if others on Wisebread are bartering, are you using an exchange like MBE, or are you swapping on an individual basis. What are your experiences, your challenges, concerns, worries, etc.

I'm considered somewhat of an expert on the subject, I'm even working on a book on the subject, so I'd be keen to help any others that wish to benefit and save cash by using this age-old system.

The floor is yours...

Thumbs up Bartering

Hello!

I'm a member of http://barterquest.com. I'm bartering everything from services to real estate. I think bartering is a great way to save! I can recommend it to everybody

All of my swapping is done on an individual basis. My roommate and I have a system worked out for the household food -- I buy all of the meat, which means I pay more on the grocery bills, but in exchange she does all of the cooking. I can cook if I have to but don't enjoy it like she does, so we both benefit from this arrangement. I'm also much more likely to trade a knife (for another knife, or for some other entirely non-knife-related item) than I am to sell one.
