I guess it depends on what freedoms are most important to you. If the most important freedom is keeping as much of your money as possible, then you're probably not going to vote for a Democrat. If the most important freedom is the right to marry any consenting human that's at least 18 years of age, even if they're the same sex as you, then you'll likely vote Democrat. It just depends.

I despise taxes, tax increases, and wasteful government spending. However, I'm willing to shelf this hatred for a while, to see if some of the Democrats who've been complaining about the high cost of health care will actually do something to improve the current system. By the way, I don't pay a dime in health care insurance premiums, but I'm still disgusted at how much we spend on health care and how inefficiently the system operates.

I also hate it when the government passes legislation based on the religious and "moral" beliefs shared by the majority that oppresses minority groups.

What's most important to you?

It does not matter who you vote for, or if you even vote at all. You can still rest assured that your "freedom" is continuing to disappear at an alarming rate.

If you want more to borrow money from China to pay for tax cuts and 2 wars (more than doubling the federal deficit) and have less freedom via illegal surveillance programs, activist legislation and a vast expansion of executive power should you vote for a republican?

Oh wait...

...that already happened.

There are more than two parties you know. Vote libertarian, and you'll have lower taxes and more freedom.
