Default The Keg Business

I am looking to get involved in the business of manufacturing kegs. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this business.

It seems worthwhile to go into as there will always be a substantial demand for kegs at bars, restaurants, ballparks, social events, etc.

I was wondering if anyone knew where kegs are manufactured. Do the breweries and microbreweries make them on site or is there a large, wholesale distributor?

Where would you guys think I could learn more about this industry?

I would imagine they are made by a separate contractor than the brewery. I can't recall myself, but it would be silly for them to make their own kegs and have to worry about that as well as the beer. I'd check for a name of a manufacturer on the next one you see, or ask at a company that uses/rents them out. Once you get the company you can start googling from there.

Based on how they work I'd imagine it wouldn't be a small scale sort of thing and is likely done in a large plant with mechanized machinery to build, test, etc.
