Default Music while swimming - experience with waterproof MP3 players?

Due to a knee injury, my activities at the gym are restricted for a while. While I can't run, bike or use the rowing or elliptical machines, I can swim. And I'm looking forward to giving that a try. But I'm also dreading not being able to listen to music or podcasts while I do. I know there are some waterproof/submersible MP3 players and some other systems that will adapt/protect your MP3 player in the water but I have no experience with any of these.

Does anyone know anything about or have experience with submersible/waterproof MP3 players or any of the cases that will protect your player while swimming?

I had a Speedo underwater radio once. The only advice I have is to make sure the ear buds fit. My ear buds kept falling out, which was really annoying. I do have smallish ear canals, though, so your experience may vary.

i've always wondered about this too because i swim for my high school team in winter.
the only problem with the ones that cover your existing mp3 player is where to put it. because the arm bands use a chord which restrains you and it's hard to stick it in your suit
