Default poker, bg, et al.

I play a little (poker) but my husband loves it. When we were dating he actually came to my house (full of 5 girls) and taught us all how to play (complete with writing out the order of winning hands on a piece of paper we could pass around for reference). It was food for a great many jokes for an absurdly long amount of time.

Now, I read about it, watch old WSOPs on YouTube at work, and play a little on FullTilt. Dave plays with friends, though he prefers tournaments to cash games so doesn't play as much as he would otherwise.

I'm not so good, yet, but I have great instincts...too bad I almost always talk myself out of following them. I love the intuitive side of the game. It feeds the side of me that likes to try to figure out people and how they think. It's also a challenge--it's not one of those things that you just "get" after you play three games, and then isn't fun anymore.

Battlestar G is currently my favorite, though don't give me any spoilers--we're only partway through the first season (though I did watch the "BG thus far" or whatever it's called that's free on iTunes, so there's not much that surprises me).

OK...really must go back to work.

I have the same problem as well. Most of the time my initial call is correct but I end up thinking to myself, "no way could they actually be that crazy?"

Apparently in low-stakes hold'em, people are very crazy. That's what makes the game so fun.

I love Fulltilt's avatars. They make playing a lot more fun.

Default just watched the latest episode

no spoilers, but battlestar and 24 are the only shows that get my heart racing and me all riled up. not to mention the only shows that are able to get a "holy shit" out of me in almost every episode.

grey's anatomy makes me cry every time. i watch heroes cuz hiro makes me laugh out loud. and desperate housewives because it makes me feel mature.

other shows i watch out of loyalty, nostalgia, or lameness is gilmore girls, CSI, lost and smallville - this one i'm just waiting for it to end.

i love poker too by the way, but i don't often get a chance to play.

I'm a bit of a tv junky... I have to admit I am getting a little bored of it though. I guess that is a good thing. I was losing interest in BSG until Thursday night I realized I was 3 episodes behind, so I watched them all and now am digging it again. A couple of shows not already mentioned that I dig are Dexter (Showtime), Lucky Louie (HBO i think), Weeds(HBO), and also The Shield which has been going for awhile but not many people have watched it that I know of.

As far as poker goes... I suck, but love the game. I think I show my emotions to readily, or I must have some tell that everyone knows but me Our group at work has been slacking though. I guess everyone got burnt out, including me and Greg.

Hi, I'm Ed. I like puppies and sunsets and long walks on the beach and...

...oh, wait... wrong site

I write, design and play guitar. I am at the beach nearly every morning, all year round -- but I do miss snow and cold weather that makes your nose fall off.

I spend too much of my time trying to figure out how to get from point A to point B here, since the layout of the streets seems to be completely arbitrary. And the last show I liked was "Mad Men" (although I'm waiting for season 3 of "Rescue Me" to come out on DVD).

Just can't get into this season of "Heroes" for some reason.

i'm really getting into Journeyman. it started off a little shaky, but the main guy (from HBO's Rome--which was awesome) is great and i'm really getting attached to the show! i look forward to it way more than heroes.

i'm kinda looking forward to the Sarah Conner Chronicles. hope that turns out better than the lame Bionic Woman redux

I can't get into Heroes either. The writers really want us to care about the conspiracy behind the Company. But the more I learn about the Company the lamer it sounds.

My favorite part of that show is the relationship between Claire and her dad.
