Popular. This was one of those WB (now the CW I think?) teen dramas and it was on around 1999-2000ish. Full of unpredictable twists and turns, larger than life characters, but also some real issues. I never knew when it was on due to stupid programming conflicts in Columbus. (WB and UPN shared the same broadcast station and they'd often pre-empt the WB shows with the UPN shows--it was a mess). I loved what I saw of it, though.

Those were going to be my two shows as well. Arrested Development was so incredibly spectacular. I'm still really surprised that more people don't know about it. And Popular was so campy, I loved it. Mary Cherry forever.

My picks are Firefly and Gargoyles.

Firefly is one of those rare tv shows that break all conventions and cliches. The "hero" is a malcontent ex-army captain leading a band of lovable space scavengers. In this show, the good guys shoot first and not everything is wrapped up neatly in 40 minute chunks. Out of 3,213 reviews on Amazon, 2,995 gave it 5 stars.

Gargoyles was my favorite cartoon growing up. I love how the show examines all the motives of the villains and their POV. Having lots of Star Trek voice cameos didn't hurt either.

Firefly definitely. One of my favorite all time shows - but only one season. At least we got a movie out of the deal too..

Also - Jericho - however this one is coming back for a second - albeit shortened - season.

I'll put in my vote for Firefly, too. That show was awesome. Ultimately, it was too poorly promoted and possibly too intelligent a show to last.

No one is going to vote for the Chappelle Show? Sure he was a little juvenille, crass, totally un-pc, and on the verge of a nervous breakdown, but that man was comic gold.
