What is the little green square for?

I see this little green square below my name with a number in brackets - it's currently (10). What does it represent? I notice the number is not the same as my post number? thank you......

"Reputation" is beside it - if someone likes a post you made they can click on that little pic of a scale (between the green circle and red triangle) and give thanks/kudos/whathaveyou and your rep points go up.
