I vaguely follow hockey and I follow football (college and professional) by osmosis. There's always lots of football talk around cubeville and it's impossible to avoid.

As for playing, I swam in junior high but never really enjoyed it a whole lot. I played soccer as a kid and again in high school. I played some intramural softball in college and in city/church leagues my first few years out of school. And there were a couple of quarters that I played a lot of pick-up football with friends when I was in college (mostly on Friday and Saturday nights when we were bored and broke). Now I play Ultimate Frisbee with people at church on a fairly regular basis, especially in the summer. Sometimes we'll play kickball or dodgeball for a change of pace or on retreats.

I was a band nerd in college, so I didn't play sports. I did play ultimate frisbee every Thursday night.

As for watching, my husband marvels at the fact that I can watch 6 basketball games at the same time College. College football, college bball, and MY Minnesota Twins baseball. I just started watching soccer on television, but mostly, fball, bball and Twins baseball.

All time LEAST favorite basketball player (more than I dislike Kobe, and this guy is pro now too, but I only watched him when he played for Cincinnati) KENYON MARTIN. EGH!!!! I could not stand him in college. All that dunking and flexing muscles for the camera. UGH! Not what college ball is about.

I love watching basketball, especially college ball (most invested in ACC ball). Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I don't have a t.v. now so I don't watch any sports regularly.

I used to play a lot of basketball. When my ankles felt so much better after I took an extended break, I decided to stop playing altogether. Now I just train martial arts and get directly beat up instead of masking the abuse under the guise of a sport. :-b

I also watch gymnastics with more interest now. Ever since I started doing bodyweight and gymastics type exercises in my training routine, I gained a new appreciation for just how much strength and body control gymnasts have.

I do watch about 1-3 hockey and/or NFL games a week with friends. NFL isn't too hard to watch because the package is so darn entertaining. I mean presentation. NHL cause I'm Canadian and it's in our blood hehehehehehe.

I do like competition, so I can have a good time watching anything, but the time requirement for many of these things is just so huge.

oh of course, Twins baseball. How could i forget - i love the twins -can't wait until the new ballpark opens in a couple years. My fondest twins memory? being at the 1987 World Series - Game 6. I'll never forget that!

The only sport I ever watch is rugby, I love that it is fast paced and tough (any sport that has a sin bin and blood bin has to be good) I would never play it though! The only sport I ever play is tennis, as there are lots of free courts near me and it is a great way to get some exercise in the summer.

Me too! Of course, that meant I went to a lot of games, be it basketball, football, or hockey.

I did play inner tube water polo one winter though.

I run for fitness. I'm trying to work back into the marathoner thin physique that I had some 12 years ago when I last ran a marathon. I stumbled through 10 miles today. Felt ok earlier but I'm really wiped out now--feel a little stiff.

I never liked Kenyon, mostly because he was with Cincinnati, but he was a dominant player. Before he broke his leg his last year, the Bearcats looked to be cruising to a final four appearance.

Anyway, back to the topic, I love college Basketball, and it doesn't hurt that my favorite team in my favorite sport is ranked No 1 in both polls right now! All teams and loyalties aside, I love to watch the first two rounds of the NCAA men's basketball tournament - I even take off of work to do so at least one of the two opening round days.

Besides basketball, I like college football, but am not a fanatic. Interestingly enough, my third favorite sport to watch is AVP volleyball (summers on NBC). I have been playing Vball the last 6 years, and love it. Beyond that, I don't watch much of anything sports related on TV, but going to baseball games is enjoyable every once in a while.
