Ender's Shadow was great, in my opinion. Kind of went back to the original story. I love Ender's Game, but not the books that followed. Ender's Shadow (and the followups from that) have been quite enjoyable.

Reputation: | I've got a number of books going right now. I just started "Good Omens" by Neil Gaimann and Terry Pratchett. I'm not far into it, but am really enjoying it. The story telling of Gaimann and the wit and Pratchett is a fun combination. I'm reading "Age of Opportunity" by Paul Tripp for my church youth leaders' volunteer job. All of the leaders are going through this book. Excellent thoughts Biblical parenting of teens. I'm reading "The World According to God" by Greg Johnson for my small group with my high school girls at church. This is one of the best books on Biblical worldview that I have read. Great stuff. I'm also solidly into Deuteronomy in my "read through the Bible in a year" plan. I'm using a chronological Bible this year, which has been interesting. |

Reputation: | Mobs, Messiahs, and Markets sounds really interesting. I might add that to my reading list! I just finished Twilight by everyone's favorite vampire-writing YA author, Stephenie Meyer. I was kind of skeptical - I mean, come on, this book has been talked about ENDLESSLY - but it was worth the hype, in my opinion. I do, however, have a huge soft spot for YA books like Harry Potter. I plan to read Rick Riordan's The Sea of Monsters tonight, in fact. I love a good, simple, entertaining book.

I can't recommend both The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns enough. Totally brilliant. | |

Reputation: | You absolutely should. Ender's Shadow is Bean's story - some overlap with Ender's Game for part of the story, but from a totally different point of view. I was so delighted to see Card had returned to this type of story for the series.
