Wise words.. As for the Avatars are concerned, you can just crop your favorite images to 80 x 80 size and use it. Or a quick google search will give you list of links to find avatars. Some of them are quite good too.

Reputation: | Learn a little bit of Photoshop or the GIMP (a free photoshop alternative) so that you can make your own custom avatar. It doesn't take much to learn the basics. Look on tutorial sites; there are plenty of PS and GIMP tutorials about making avatars. Then you will be able to make an awesome, personalized avatar. |

PSlover.com | Search for photoshop tutorials Although my photoshop knowledge is limited, feel free to ask me any questions on getting started with editing. And I don't have experience with the GIMP, but I've heard it is similar to photoshop. |

Reputation: | I used my camera with its 10-second self-timer activated. It took a bunch of tries to get the angle and pose just right. Then I resized the image using Photoshop Elements. |

Reputation: | <---- points over there :0) Take a photo of something that you really relate to and shrink it to 100 by 100 in an image editing software. That way it will be truly 'your' avatar because you've created it.
