Default Where to find avatars

This thread is for posting places to find good avatars. Post your suggestions, and if it's a good source, I'll update this post.

You think about the books, movies, and stories that have profoundly impacted your understanding of life. Then you labor for hours looking for the perfect image that captures the very essence of that transformative experience.

You find avatars in your heart Greg, in your heart.

360style.net

An Xbox 360 site, thats devoted to Xbox 360 discussion as well as Wallpapers, Avatars, and even Zune themes.

Nice place for Xbox 360 GFX stuff.

Haha..You crack me up Will.
Wise words..

As for the Avatars are concerned, you can just crop your favorite images to 80 x 80 size and use it. Or a quick google search will give you list of links to find avatars. Some of them are quite good too.

Learn a little bit of Photoshop or the GIMP (a free photoshop alternative) so that you can make your own custom avatar. It doesn't take much to learn the basics. Look on tutorial sites; there are plenty of PS and GIMP tutorials about making avatars. Then you will be able to make an awesome, personalized avatar.

I didn't even think of the DIY route. Thanks for the tips!

... off to think of what would make an "awesome, personalized avatar" of me ...

Here are a few avatar tutorials from my favorite Photoshop tutorial website.

PSlover.com | Search for photoshop tutorials

Although my photoshop knowledge is limited, feel free to ask me any questions on getting started with editing. And I don't have experience with the GIMP, but I've heard it is similar to photoshop.

I used my camera with its 10-second self-timer activated. It took a bunch of tries to get the angle and pose just right. Then I resized the image using Photoshop Elements.

How often does everyone change theirs? I post on a few boards, and like to change mine about every month or so to something that I enjoy, relate to, etc.

Take a photo of something that you really relate to and shrink it to 100 by 100 in an image editing software. That way it will be truly 'your' avatar because you've created it.
