I've been frozemud since I first wandered onto the web. When I was thinking up a nickname for some long-forgotten forum the phrase "my name is mud" popped into my head. I also happened to be chilly at that moment, not really frozen, just a little bit froze on my nose.

And there ya go---frozemud.

I'm Finally Frugal because. . . . yes, you guessed it. . . . after years of overspending, I'm finally learning to live within (and hopefully below) my means! My user name and blog address just serve as reminders about my committment to paying off debt/saving money every day when I log in.

I used to have some neon fish... unfortunately, I'm not very good with pets and my neons are no longer with us

Several years ago, I was getting into online gaming. My poison back then was a first person shooter and I couldn't think of a non-lame username.

I finally settled on lilac because it let others know I was a girl (a rarity at the time in those games) and I always thought it was funny to see "You've been killed by lilac!" pop up on the screen. I mean, how uncool would you feel if you were killed in some testosterone-charged violence fest by a flower?

This nickname (over the decade that I spent online I've acquired more than I'm comfortable admitting here lol) was my actual job title. I got a job working as a runner in a local casino's restaurant last summer. I worked night shifts, so the job, which was kind of fun by and of itself, also came with the best job title I've had so far.

Well, that, and it reflects two of my biggest hobbies - pulling all-nighters/staying up late and walking/running.

Looby is a nickname that my family has called me all my life, after a character in a children's programme. I picked it because it is the most sensible of all my nicknames!

Hermione - I figured you were just blessed with a great name.

Until the first movie came out, my husband (and kids, and I) were pronouncing it Her-Me-O-Nee. For all our language skills, we just didn't get that one right and the original mispronunciation stuck.

Now that I know how to say it properly, (and after 3 years in Australia, I figure it got it pretty close), I think it is just lovely.

Mine seemed ok at the time, but I wonder if I need to change it after I actually get my blog up and running.

I just went with my real name. I don't do aliases well.
