Default [Win a $250 giftcard] How would you spend $250 at a bargain store?

This is one of the official Marshalls $250 giveaway threads.

Marshalls is giving away a $250 gift card to a randomly selected Wise Bread reader in this thread. This is part of their promotion to raise awareness for the new Megashoe sections in their stores.

How to participate

Just post a comment in this thread. You must be a current US resident and be 18 or over. We'll randomly pick a winner from this thread on 3/22/09.

The topic

What if you were given $250 to spend in any way you like at a bargain store like Marshalls (or a competitor like Target, Wal-Mart, JC Penny, etc). How would you spend that money? Would you treat yourself or would you stock up on essentials? We want to know!

Two other ways to win

This topic not your cup of tea? There are two other ways to enter. You can fill out this entry form or you can leave a comment on this other topic:

If you can splurge on 1 piece of clothing what would it be?

You can try to enter all three ways, but you can only win once.

Default Interview Suit

I'm job hunting, and would buy separates to create an interview suit. If any $$ is left, I'd buy matching shoes!

I'm paying off debt accrued with my ex-husband. That is my priority right now. However, my clothes are showing their age. I would love to freshen up my closet with some new clothes. I get to dress casual at work MOST of the time. I could use new casual clothes AND new dress clothes.

Default Basics

I would probably buy up a good supply of underwear and socks. You can never have enough bright white t-shirts!

Default Gifts

I would buy gifts for everyone because there are so many great, cheap gift ideas at Marshalls. I don't really need any more clothing so i would buy things for my friends and family.

I would buy a few work pieces for me since I just had a baby. Socks underwear and new sneakers for my husband, and some clothes for my two kids. Something for everyone.

If I had $250 to spend at Marshalls I would buy all kinds of things, probably a pair of athletic shoes, a pair of heels, some workout clothes, fashion jewlerly, socks, some tops and jeans and even some things for the house. Plus I always have to stop by the clearance section to see what kind of bargains can be found. I could get a whole cart load of stuff at Marshalls for $250 (I've filled up carts there before while spending less!)

If I were spending the money at Target or Wal-Mart I would probably buy a few more practical items such as toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, food, etc... but that isn't nearly as fun!

I would by furnishings and decor for my house. After moving around nearly every year for the last eight(!), I'm ecstatic to have a place to call my own for the long-term. With tough times right now, I can't justify that kind of splurge normally, but this would be just the ticket!

I would get a new pair of jeans that really fit and a new winter jacket that really fit. I have a horrible time finding clothes that fit properly. The rest would probably go to a few good solid-colored shirts for layering and maybe a nice dress. I do have to confess I would probably check out the clearance areas and get some stuff for the house and maybe even my husband
