Reputation: | WOW! Where did the time go? Birthday boy has some comments about arriving at the big 75 and being happy about the trip here, potholes and all. Life can be really good at any age so don't just sit around watching TV fellow Wisebreaders. Get up and about, but relax and don't rush. Be positive and friendly. Read and learn to improve your well being. Develop and follow healthy eating habits. Sleep well!

Reputation: | Hey SrKen, I must admit, I am not one to "click" on many links in posts, but you were the exception. I feel there is no greater resource that surpasses value, wisdom and experience of elders. It seems to me that the older you get, the better you are able to see what really "matters" in life. My grandfather shared a little "secret" with me, about 30 years ago, which I still consider to this day, the moral compass that guides my daily actions... " At the end of our lives, most of us realize that the only thing that really mattered, was the one thing we get to keep...our memories. Not of possessions, wealth and fame, but those of relationships and experiences we shared with people we love and respect." You have confirmed this again for me, and you are also a very lucky guy since it is obvious that you understood the concept early enough in your life, to have reaped the rewards for many years...and many to come. Thanks for sharing your wisdom, Happy Birthday!

Reputation: | Thanks. A diary of memories kept from youth be a wonderful life project. Just the good memories though, the bad ones should be deleted soon after being noted.

Reputation: | Happy Birthday!! Thank you for sharing your insights. At the end of the day, all that really does matter is the quality of relationships we have built and sustained and what we have given back to the world around us. |
