Reputation: | Lifehacker has a good roundup of the top 5 cheap fares websites. http://lifehacker.com/5073437/five-b...-cheap-tickets Personally, I've used Priceline and Kayak to find some good deals. What's your favorite cheap fares websites? |

Reputation: | I have had some luck buying tickets directly from Southwest.com, and have benefited from their liberal refund and reschedule policies. |

Reputation: | Priceline and Kayak have worked well for me. However, the biggest saver is flying on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Fares always seem to be cheapest then.

Reputation: | Reliability is the most important. You can find dirt cheap but if it's from a shady company, it's useless. My family looks in the newspaper and there's tons of ads on traveling tickets. Then we just keep looking and scour around until we find the cheapest ticket. |

Reputation: | I'm officially a Yapta lover. In the one month I've been signed up I've saved approx $2,000 CAD across two flights; one for Christmas and one for my summer vacation. It's also very fun to set up dream trips with a really low limit juuuust in case they drop that far. So far I still haven't seen any $200 flights to Greece, but if one comes up, I'm ready. |

Reputation: | I usually look at Kayak, but I haven't bought plane tickets in almost a year. I've been hoping the prices would get down so it would be more affordable. I'll be sure to check out the other sites. |

RJ W is on the right track. If you select your flights during off-peak days (usually Tuesday thru Thursday) as well as off-peak hours (early departure times aka the butt crack of dawn Another thing to consider, and I have no idea why they do this but a lot of airlines will post discounted fares on their websites anywhere between 2:00 am and 4:00 am. I've never really tried it to see if it is actually true but I've heard that from different people so it may be worth checking out. Hope this helps.

Reputation: | Using Southwest's Ding! software has been a good way of getting cheap flights. My aunt and uncle got fantastic fares flying from the East to West coast a year ago. It is kind of annoying having it installed on your computer, but definitely worth it if it helps you find that one cheap fare you're after! http://www.southwest.com/ding/what_is_ding.html Anyone have any tips about how to get cheap international flights? I'm always on the look-out for some! |
