I was actually recommended this book over a finance forum and it really help me with the reorganization of my portfolio and rethink my trading strategy. Just finished reading the book - The Power Curve - definately a great read. Especially loved the sailing analogies and the simplicity with which the author has conveyed such vital trading techniques and strategies.

Thanks !!

Agreed. Studying/reading on your own can only take you so far. Classes often include discussion and assignments/exams that push it to the next level. Also a prof that has many examples from 'the real world' can really boost your understanding.

One of the things I would suggest is to listen to internet based programs on the subject. One of my favorites on the market and economy is Financial Sense Newshour

Here is the link http://www.financialsense.com/fsn/main.html

Good Luck!

Sign up for a couple of cheap local community college classes. You'll get a good grasp on the basics if you take an economics and entry level finance course.
