Reputation: | Been thinking about how quickly people react to changes in business, social plans, traffic. I'll use a boat analogy. Are you: 1. A cruise ship 2. A yacht 3. A jet-ski Cruise ship types - They see the iceberg coming. They question whether the iceberg is really coming. They take a long time to make a decision. they crash into the iceberg. They look for someone to blame. Yacht types - They see their yacht slip is occupied. They anchor and complain about the inconvenience. They hope to get on with what they wanted originally. They don't get it. They have to be told they must move. They reluctantly steer into a nearby empty slip. They grumble over dinner. Jet ski types - They zip in and out and don't ask why the waves changed. They look out for dangers, swerve for safety, enjoy the ride. If the jet ski runs out of fuel, hey they have on their life jackets, and they swim to shore and are glad to have a great story to tell. Conclusion - the faster I can identify, prepare, and adapt to change, the more successful my life becomes. |

| Senior Member | I would consider myself a sailboat. Not as zippy as a jet ski but can adapt to changing winds. Still get to where I'm headed though. |

Reputation: | I don't like change much, but I deal with it. I suppose I'm more of the yacht type. |

Reputation: | Hi Rick, haha, I like your analogy. I`m definintely the Jet-Ski type, as you can clearly see in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0Wl4vXEsFY ;-) Change is the only thing that`s constant in the world. |

Reputation: | I am probably closer to a floating glob of fiberglass that transforms into the most constructive vessel when I get there, lol
