Default Inspiring movies that give you chills

I just caught the ending of Rudy on TV the other day. It is a great movie based on the true story of a 5' 7" kid with dyslexia and who defied all odds to attend Notre Dame and fulfilled his dream of playing for the Fighting Irish.

Every time I get tired at work I think about this movie. I'll admit it is a bit cheesy, but knowing that someone else has overcame overwhelming odds makes my life's challenges seem a lot more manageable.

Do you have any favorite movies that inspire you to overcome challenges in your life?

I love Rudy. Of course, I'm an ND alum, so it's one of those movies I've had the opportunity to watch over and over. My favorite was watching it projected on the side of one of the buildings surrounding the quad.

One of my favorite inspiring movies is The American President. When the President gives his speech about how he was spending so much time keeping his job that he forgot to do his job... it just makes me wish that more politicians could be that way.

Mona Lisa Smile is very encouraging to me. I'm a first year student at age 38 and found a piece of myself in almost every character despite them having gone to university straight out of college.

That sounds really interesting. I'm going into the third year of a four year degree in a month's time (at 42). I love studying! It's so much more rewarding , now I've reached a more mature age :0)

Megan I love that speech in the American President.

America isn't easy.... America is advance citizenship. *sigh* We forget about that sometimes.

My favorite quote is when the vice president said you don't fight the fights you can win, you fight the fights that need fighting. I get goosebumpy every time I read that quote.

Hoosiers, Breaking Away, and Brian's Song are all motivating to me.

I just saw the movie "Bella" and it was very touching. Definitely recommend it.

The Dish- when it shows footage of people around the world watching the moonwalk, they look so awed. It was well before my time but always makes me wish that something that inspiring would happen again, I think people are harder to impress nowadays (maybe just me). Plus it's a great movie overall!
