I think it's really all a matter of personal paper preference and budget. While I enjoy using Moleskins from time to time I am always reluctant to draw in them because of the costs associated with it. (I can buy a full sized sketchbook for roughly the same price). My roommate LOVES moleskin and goes through them like crazy but they just never really caught on with me.

I notice for the purpose of drawing I prefer really cheap ballpoint pens and legal pads or printer paper (I feel less pressure to produce finished work this way) I also have a smaller ring bound Canson recycled sketchbook that I keep in my car for random urges.

As fas as finding them goes... if you can find a book store (Waldenbooks?) that is going out of business you can really strike gold. I managed to find a huge stack of assorted ones for $1 each so I got about $70 - 100 worth of the notepads for $10?

I just started using the Cahier the past month and I like it because it can fit in a back pocket and can take getting beat up a bit. It took be a little while to get used to it and I two wish it had elastic to keep it closed (I ended up using one of my daughters slightly stretched out hair bands and that is working fine) Between that and my great deal on the Cross Ion that I got here I am one happy and more organized person. I write in this daily and it has saved me on more than one occasion. I too bought mine through Amazon and it is very little to spend on something that is durable, useful and keeps you on tract.

Default Moleskine

Right now, I use mine to help me keep up with my 101 things in 1001 days list. I also have a 30 days list. The 30 days list is a place where I write down things that I want to buy but don't necessarily need. The item has to stay on the list for 30 days and if in 30 days, I still want it, then I may consider getting it. I just started it but i'm hoping that it will keep me from impulse buying.
