Reputation: | Thanks Miranda for the Speed Dial recommendation. That is a very useful extension. I've also heard of NoScript before, but AdBlock was enough to block ads for me. NoScript also seems like it takes longer to configure. But I do still get annoying flash ads from time to time, so I'll consider using it. Thanks for the extensions! |

Reputation: | I like Read it Later as well. Auto Copy is so nice. Paste and Go 2 allows me to right click in the address bar or the google search bar and click paste and go which automatically pastes and, you guessed it, goes. No clicking enter, it presses enter for you. |

Reputation: | I'll second the vote for NoScript. Others extensions (or are they called add-ons now?) are Greasemonkey (absolutely essential, check this out), CookieSafe, Foxmarks and CustomizeGoogle. I really like the way you can customize Firefox to your liking with extensions. The downside is that you need to go through the hassle of waiting for extensions to be updated whenever a new major version of Firefox is released. The alternative is to mess with configuration files manually, but even that does not always help. |

Reputation: | Just thought of a couple more. Adblock Plus and its companion Ablock Filterset.G Updater are both essential. You'll never go back to browsing with ads after you've tried blocking them. BlockSite is also useful in some cases, e.g. the recent Facebook Beacon fiasco. |

Reputation: | Read It Later sounds exactly like the sort of thing I'm looking for. I used to have Clipmarks, which copies pictures or blocks of text super easily, but I find that I don't use it enough so I've removed it. For people like that saving pictures or quotes a lot, look into it. |

Reputation: | I love the Signature add-on. You add snippets of text you use frequently to it, so you can just right-click and select the one you want, without having to copy/paste each time.
