My goals for the year:

1. Eat more local, seasonal fruits and vegetables.
2. Spend less to save even more for a down payment.
3. Purchase our first home, but only if we can find one we'll be happy with long-term that's affordable without a bizarre mortgage.

The first two are small changes, but if I can make them part of the routine, we'll reap the benefits for years to come.

Well...I haven't gotten that haircut yet and a few of my plants died. LOL Good thing it's only 13 days into the new year.

1. I would love to lose 5 pounds.
2. Get more SLEEP.
3. I would like to get in touch with friends from the past. I admit that I am more of a "mass email" type and should just pick up the phone instead.

1. Get pregnant (again) - we're ready for a second rascal to be added to our family (and I don't have to lose that extra pounds, ha lol).
2. Stay on budget - which is not only a goal, but essential as we are really tight on funds this year.
3. Get back as many of my good "taking care of myself" habits (like journaling, solitude, prayer, exercise, monthly meal plans, etc.) and get rid of the bad ones (staying up late, working like it's priority one - especially since it's like priority seven or something like that, eating whatever and whenever I'm hungry and not keeping in touch with my friends).

Hmm.. I guess number 3 is actually quite a lot of resolutions in one, but I'm not writing them all out because it's not about the number of things I get done, it's the change in quality of life that I'm after.

1. Go to church at least once a month
2. Drink no more than one can of soda a week
3. Limit ebay purchases to things I have really thought about (no impulse buys)

Default Goals to Pursue in 2008

1. Develop income streams from writing, voice-over announcing, photography & investing by consistently
  • Writing something every day
  • Shooting a photo every day

2. Reduce expenses by:
  • Having "Zero dollars spent days/weeks"
  • Baking some bread instead of buying store-made
  • Having some weeks where I spend less than $30 per week on groceries

3. Eliminate or downsize possessions: clothing, unused electronics

4. Arrange one GarageBand song per month

5. Remember goals are a path to follow not a mark to etch in stone.

Lightbulb BALANCE & JUGGLE - LIFE resolutions

How or where to start to accomplish GOALS for 2008 BALANCE - include the whole person

Time to get everything done JUGGLE - first things first

Body Goals for 2008 - eat healthy, exercise daily, declutter surroundings
Mind Goals for 2008 - learn a new language, read & memorize
Spirit Goals for 2008 - live by the Spirit, Galatians 5:16-26, Holy Bible

A good place to start is the book "Getting Things Done" by David Allen at Amazon.

A good way to get there is to pay the price of letting some things go while you devote the TIME to what will offer better payoffs and rewards toward your goal.
3-4 days to get your paper/office in order

Quote: "Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." john 6:35, NIV. Now that's wise!

All this adds up to more BALANCE and less STRESS JUGGLING and more LIFE!!

1. Keep up with my home, and help my children learn to do the same.

2. Not spend every available moment on the computer.

3. Declutter

I know a couple of our local towns have a massive shredding party every year where you can bring your papers to be shredded professionally and taken away by a secure recycling company. It normally is one or two days either at the end of the year or around tax season.

Locks of Love=cut it all off
I've had hair below my waist for years and cut it to shoulder length right before Christmas. 15inches braided went into a bag. Its kind of liberating to have it short.

My goals are:
  • to reduce grocery spending by $10-20 a week, each week.
  • to replenish both savings accounts to $500
  • contribute at least $100 to the IRA if not the maximum
  • get a job out of the house
  • use the money I make online for puppy training
  • Pay off our car in half the loan
  • get a new apartment/house
  • start and stick to a weight loss program and lose 30lbs by summer (my reunion)
