I find the protein intake interesting -- it does seem high to me though I may not be in the muscle-building target audience though I do lift weights and would like to get stronger than I am now. My focus has been on aerobic fitness, endurance, and speed.

I did, however, follow a high-protein diet when I was pregnant (80-100g per day) and it was all I could do to eat enough; I drink a bunch of lowfat milk with powdered milk mixed in to boost my protein intake while controlling my calorie intake.

When in your life are you growing fastest? When your a baby. Yet mothers milk is only about 6% protein per calorie.
