Livejournal
wheresgeorge.com
geocaching.com
flickr.com

I've made acquaintances with very many people through common interests on those websites.

Flylady

Even though she can be overwhelming and a little hokey sometimes, I no longer feel hopeless about my house. And hopeful feels a ton better than hopeless!

I agree with you on all counts. Fly Lady can be totally hokey sometimes, but I started doing the "Shiny sink" thing (meaning getting all the dishes out of my sink and wiping down the sink every night) and it is SUCH a great feeling.

A couple of websites that have changed my life are Gmail, Lifehacker, and of course this one. I read drudgereport everyday just to get a general synopsis of the day's events as well. And now that nytimes.com has free articles, I dont get anything done! :-)

I've turned into a big fan of The Oil Drum. If reading it doesn't make you frugal, not much else will do it.

Yahoo! Personals changed my life pretty dramatically, wink-wink, nudge-nudge, knowwhatImean?

To that I should add Proz.com, a translator's job board/forum/resource hub, which has led to a lucrative freelance translation business; ikeafans.com, which made my dream kitchen remodel a reality; and eBay eBay eBay.

I wish there was a FlyGuy, though, 'cause we both work full-time and I don't feel like I should be the only one stuck with the sink patrol.

Kathryn - If it gives you hope (I'm on a theme here...), I have been flying for several years now and I see that it is rubbing off on my husband. He's particularly good about making the bed, and he does his share of dishes, too. If only some would rub off on the kiddos!

I know it's no zenhabits, but facebook has been a nice one for me. I've been able to re-connect with friends and acquaintances from college and high school who now live all over the world. I haven't seen most of them in years and probably never would have found them otherwise.

I thought about this and thought about this. I can't think of a website that "changed my life" but then I think The Simple Dollar came in while I was going through a lot of change and made me feel much better about it and also taught me some things.

And of course, everything google is infinitely useful to me.
