Today I discovered the 9rules network thanks to Zen Habits. 9Rules aggregates the new posts of its members blogs and categorizes them. The food community may be a good place to find a blog you like:

This guy does the FN dish on food network. He's not a pro, so this site may be a little more accessible.

I really enjoy cheaphealthygood @ http://cheaphealthygood.blogspot.com/
She breaks down all her recipes to calculate calories, fat and price per serving. Also she has plenty of entertaining posts as well as recipe posts.

Gootsy,

You might like http://thenewcook.com his blog has a lot of good tips and recipes for begining cooks. Also http://startcooking.com has good information. My own blog is http://chaosinthekitchen.com and I think you could find some helpful tips and recipes there as well. Trent at http://thesimpledollar.com also does some cooking posts that are geared towards beginners and saving money, look under his categories. Good Luck!

I have a food/cooking blog, but it's relatively new, so there aren't a lot of resources yet. What I do have is a favorite blogs page, with all my favorite food blogs: http://almostfrugal.com/food/foodies-galore/

If you like italian food, I can recommend http://my-italian-cooking.com There are actual recipes, tips and photos. Another similar one about french cuisine is http://my-french-cooking.com
And the top source of cooking ideas is Wikipedia!

My sister and I just started a food column called Frugaltroph on our frugal living blog Pecuniarities which we are also aggregating to a standalone site for those only interested in food. We just started so there is only 1 post so far, but we'll be posting new meal ideas/recipes on a weekly basis.

I love the pioneer woman's website, but my favourite site for recipes is www.recipezaar.com..... very easy to use... you just type in to the search box what you want to make and it will give you a list of recipes...... some of which come with ratings and comments from other people who have already tried them.
