Reputation: | I was reading Money magazine at the library last weekend, and came across an article that discussed four tips to saving more money. One of the suggestions included this website, http://www.stickk.com, where you can create a 'contract' with yourself (whether it's losing weight OR increasing savings)! You can set an outside 'referee' (most likely a friend or relative) to check on your progress. AND, here's the kicker: you can set up a system under which you would "pay" a designated amount (say, $100) if you did NOT reach your goal! Your 'payment' can go to the charity of your choice, or to an individual. The website suggests setting it up to go to a charity or organization you can't stand (say, your opposing political party?), which would serve as greater incentive to actually meet your goal. . . . Kind of interesting, I thought, for people who aren't self-motivated to make changes!
