I've enjoyed your posts here so far Trustno1. Thanks for the great advice. What happened to the people who were suppose to be regulating Madoff?

My hourly rate at the hotel stayed the same, but they stopped paying overtime, stopped paying extra money for working bank holidays and they even cut down Xmas pay. Not impressed, but hey ho.

In reality, 2 of my 3 retirement checks went up. I also paid the last payment for my son's college tuition. That means for the past 10 years (2 children) I have had a major portion of my income paid out to colleges'. But now that I have lemon of a car, I am still okay, just mad as a wet hen over the lemon.

I am glad we don't have any studrnt loans. I write a letter every day to GM about the car with leaky windows, power windows that don't work, a trunck lid that will not open. I should have kept my clunker!

Well, compared to last year (7 months of unemployment) it increased, but we are still not where we need to be. My husband is looking into getting a part-time job that could help quite a bit, so we'll see what happens.

The biggest thing that's killing us right now is that when he was unemployed for 7 months, we had to live off of all of our savings, and once that was gone, CREDIT CARDS. So now we've got around $7,000 in credit card debt. But, we've got a plan and we're paying them off as quickly as possible, it's just taking some time. The second job will definitely help us put a bigger dent in it.
