Default Direct Deposit Stimulus Check

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23679964/

The news quotes and Wisebread.com says:

"If you want to be the first on your block to get your $600 economic stimulus payment, the IRS has a tip: Sign up to get your 2007 tax refund via direct deposit"

So will it be directly deposited based on your banking information from your 2007 tax returns -- or do you have to register somewhere else to have your stimulus check directly deposited?

Advise....

I completed my partners tax return a few days ago and Turbo Tax asked if the stimulus rebate should be direct deposited into the same account as the 2007 refund. When I completed my taxes in February, Turbo Tax did not inquire about this since it was not passed and signed. I have been searching the IRS website and cannot find anything regarding direct deposit of the stimulus rebate. I am going to keep looking and will post it here if I can find anything.

Thanks,

Everyone keeps saying if you want it early then use direct deposit. I'm sure it'll work out and the information will come out just seemed like someone was missing inputting a link.

Quote:
Stimulus payments will be direct deposited for taxpayers selecting that option when filing their 2007 tax returns. Taxpayers who have already filed with direct deposit won't need to do anything else to receive the stimulus payment. For taxpayers who haven't filed their 2007 returns yet, the IRS reminds them that direct deposit is the fastest way to get both regular refunds and stimulus payments.

From that is sounds like it will be automatically direct deposited.
