Default Do You Use Your Credit Card On The Net?

I make a rule of not using my card on the net, not just for spending reasons but security reasons too. I'm just wondering if other people use theirs or not? Have you had problems with security or spending?

Hrm sorry folks, I didn't want that to be public!

I said a lot, but it's about 50/50 with paypal. No problems what so ever. Feel very comfortable with it, more so than over the phone, and maybe even more than at restaurants.

Yeah, I haven't had a problem with using my credit card online. I also think it's more secure than the phone. Though you do need to make sure your computer isn't infected with a virus or keylogger.

online shopping has been my major downfall I think I was almost to the point where I knew my credit card # by heart

But I never had any trouble (well, security trouble anyway) with buying online.

I feel really comfortable using my credit card online. I've never had a problem with security, and it's so convenient. Even if someone did get my number, I'm not liable for charges that I didn't make; I just check my statement closely.

I feel a lot more uncomfortable inputting my bank routing and account #'s, so I hardly ever do that. It's a lot trickier to get money back from a bank after it's stolen.

I use my debit card to pay all of my bills online and for any purchases. I have never felt unsafe. I agree that sometimes I feel more unsafe at restaurants

I use my credit card online pretty regularly. I am picky about only shopping at online stores that have a decent reputation and don't look like fly-by-night operations. I'll admit that I have actually memorized my cc number from online shopping.

If you don't feel safe giving your credit card number online, a lot of credit cards allow you to generate temporary or one time use numbers specifically for online shopping. I do it with my Discover card pretty regularly. Also, you can opt to not store your credit card number with the merchant. It's not that big a hassle to re-enter your number unless you're doing a ton of shopping.

Yes I use my card for most purchases especially online ones although I do try to stick to reputable stores or sites using paypal. I use MS money to keep track of my spending and I make sure that I pay the credit card bill off in full every month.

I have to agree with you. I usually use my credit/debit card at online stores that are known and ones that I trust.

Default Yup - but with caution

I use my cards on the net almost every day for the convenience, but I always look for Trust-e or BBBOnline or other reputable qualifiers for the security of the site. My credit cards (I have two) both have great policies for taking care of incorrect or fraudulent charges, but it does require being diligent about reviewing the statements.

One note - I would NEVER use a debit card online. Ever!
