i think extra income stems from the desire or the need to change something in your life. i think the topic should be changed to do you make money from your hobby? rather than extra income

I definitely needed to change something in my life...lost my job last December. Went to work part time and found a home business I can do part time. There are a ton of scams out there, but I did my homework and found a legit company with Inc. 500 recognition. So, that's where my extra income comes from. I certainly didn't invest a lot of money and it's a great way to add needed $$ to my household. So, if you have a hobby that's great and I hope you can turn it into a way to make money. If not--like me--there really are some great opps out there. You just have to be careful.

When the economy "crashed" many years ago, (I'm in Denver)I closed a wholesale operation and a retail studio (art glass) and went back to college for 2yrs and got another degree. It was my "strategy" for waiting until the economy made a rebound.

For the most part, I financed the whole experience by making lamps, windows and gift items in a shop I set up in my basement. Sold everything at garage sales and flea mkts on the week-ends.

I think to earn an extra source of income is a good thing for most people. It means that we are not reliant on a single source of income.

For all we know, our hobbies can help us earn extra income.

A "Chocolatier" ...that's a riot! I would consider doing it just to be able to give that answer when somebody asks me what I do for a living !
