I have four cards.

Capital One- Which I rarely use now but I keep it since it is my oldest card.
Chase Freedom Card- I use this one the most since I get 3% back on it. I'll be getting a $250 check from them in a few months.
Chase Sony Card- Signed up for this one because it had a $100 sign-up bonus. Currently have a 3.99% for life balance on it. In no hurry to pay it off since the interest is lower than my student loans.
Discover Card- Use it for the 5% categories when they come around. The rest of the time it stays home.

I think about what I use my credit cards for and am confident they are making me a little money rather costing me money. Until the last couple of years the reverse was true.

The only credit card I have is an American Express my work gave me for when I travel. Otherwise I get along just fine with my debit card.

Technically I have two.

One is the Chase Freedom card I use all the time and pay off each month

The other is for a local jewelry store that gave me 0% for six months and 10% off my engagement ring purchase (this is paid off now).

2 cards...I hate when excess cards stretch out my wallet then everything starts falling out.

1. Chase Visa Freedom Card
2. American Express Costco Card

Two. I have a Hawaiian Airlines card I use for everything and pay off in full every month. I have to fly to Honolulu every year to visit my family, and I've found that the mileage usually covers the round trip.
I pretty much never use the other one.

I just maintain 2 mastercards for emergency and useful stuffs. I always make sure that I pay them on or before due date to avoid penalties.

It seems like two is sort of the norm. I still only have one, but I never use it, I actually got it because it links to my checking account as a form of overdraft protection.

Default credit card

is it secure than debit card.I would reconsider using one if the bank in question was not one that would be incurring fees. A credit card is an eroding form of money,
