Everyone wants free money is why you all want the referrals =)

ING is actually pretty good in at this moment with down interest rates. Emigrant Direct is @ 2.75% right now. HSBC @ 3.05%. Customer service is better at ING than HSBC. I don't know about Emigrant Direct though.

I used to have an account with Emigrant, and everything went smoothly. I called their CS line once and my call was taken promptly, and the rep was knowledgable and nice. Their online bank is very easy to use. I now have an account with ING and find them to be just fine too. Again, a simple, user-friendly site and decent customer service via phone too. The advantage to ING is the sign-up bonus plus the opportunity to refer others and get paid for that too. To my knowledge Emigrant doesn't offer that.

I think that just about answers another question in the forums: what to do with the stimulus check.

I think I'll be opening an ING account. I've been thinking about it for a while now, but haven't had the $250 lying around.

I love ING but recently have switched my money to an ETRADE account for the interest rates. I made my sister sign up for an ING account because she isnt good with money and ING is so easy to use. I hope they increase the rates soon because I really like them. Also, if you explore ING website some more they have a newsletter thats on there that offers some great tips!

HSBC customer service is not bad. The lady I spoke to was very nice and helpful. It's good to know ING is good about service. I'm planning to use my stimulus check to open an account there.

The thing about ING is that they aren't trying to pull one over on you. It's such a pleasure to not have to worry about sneaky fees and such.

I have been with ING since 2002. They have helped me understand and learn how important it is to save money. And they make it so simple to. I was skeptical at first, but I am so glad I went with them. Their customer service support is also great to talk to. Their interest rate they offer is the best than any bank I know. I can set it up so they deduct any amount from my checking account every month, or every week. They even offer checking accounts, CDs, retirement accounts and even mortgage loans. And the security online is impecable and they have always cared for the privacy of their customers. They are truly remarkable. I would recommend them to anyone trying to save their money.
