The freeze blocks access to credit information that businesses usually require to open new accounts. Reputation: | It is really sad to see how many people view a credit card like it is a magic lantern left by the credit Genie. Credit cards are fine...as long as you pay off the entire balance every month. They are like giving a gun to a three year old. Eventually they end up shooting themselves.
