Default Pay cash for Christmas?

This year I made it my goal not to take out any debt and only pay cash for Christmas presents. I think I am going to make it! 2008 will be great because I won't be worrying about me Christmas debt!

Best of luck.

I am still on a (couple) of cards I have to pay off. But I promise myself I won't use any cards in 2008!

Good luck! I just finished christmas shopping this past weekend and never touched the credit cards -- our first debt free Christmas, and it feels GREAT.

Congratulations! That must be a great feeling to be free and clear like that.

That is a great goal for 2008.

I did the same thing a few years ago when my wife and I spent way too much on our first Christmas. Now I just set aside money every month, so when November and December come around, we have the money already there for us (earning some interest throughout the year). I know some banks used to have "Christmas Clubs", where you could put money into a certain account for the holidays.

We know generally who we are buying presents for each year and how much we will spend on them, so we know about how much to save.

Good luck!!
