That's more of what I'm shooting for. I want to have enough money by the time I'm 35 (I'm 20 now) to "retire" and do whatever I want. If I have a job by that point that I really enjoy, I don't need to quit if I don't want to.

It seems that to often we get caught in that cycle.

Go to school for the first of our life then work the same job our life without ever making a real difference.

I want to change the world rather than being another traditional of the learn, work, and sleep cycle.

I think what really matters is "What we leave behind."
Money does not fall well into that category, it is just a tool to help us on the way.

Thank you,

Retirement doesn't mean you stop working and move into a retirement home. It means you stop working and do whatever you want. I don't think you're doing much to change the world by working at a miserable job everyday.

Retirement is a big lifestyle change that can bring some amount of anxiety about your financial future. To reduce your apprehension, you have to learn how to assess your spending needs and to calculate if your planned income will be enough to meet them. Thinking of it as a journey also means that one has to be well prepare for it.
