My wife and I are splitting the check. She's probably going to buy stuff for the kids, and I will probably get a new guitar or a gun.

I asked her about paying some old bills, and we may do that, but I have no idea what she wants to do, so I'm just going to follow her lead.

I received mine today and IMMEDIATELY paid off a CC bill. What a great feeling!

I received mine yesterday, and have put it in emergency savings for now. I may be moving this summer, so if necessary, it will help to offset moving expenses.

We're putting 80% in a savings account to build up our emergency fund, and the other 20% is for whatever.

I hate having debt, so I think I'm going to throw a little extra at the monthly mortgage

Ahh the rebate checky!! After reciving my income tax check, i am happy for even MORE money! I was looking at fun stuff at Pier 1, but (sensibly) I'll be using it to go into my emergency fund, beach house fund or towards paying down my mortgage. And maybe some $ for a dinner at Red Lobster.

Ours was a measley $700. I'm not doing anything special with it, putting it into savings as I do with all the "leftover" money at the end of each month. Our savings account is growing pretty nicely, not quite up to the level where I would like it to be (It's around $14k, I'd like it to be $25k) so the $700 would give it some boost. On the other hand with interest rates in the pooper (I can only get about 3.8% APY on my savings) I might have to do something else with my emergency fund other than keeping it in "high yield" savings.
