Default Where to buy stocks as a gift?

Does anyone know where I can buy a share of stock/s for gifts? Transfer fees of oneshare.com and a like are too expensive and they take such a long time to process, plus I don't need the frame.

Hi,

Try www.foliofn.com I believe they may have that feature there.

I went through the foliofn website and I would have to use a custodial account if I want to purchase a stock for someone else, and I don't want to do that. Thanks for your reply though.

I just thought of something you can try. If you know of the company you want to purchase, try going direct to their website. Many companies have stock buying programs that are free of brokerage commissions and allow you to set up one time or continuous purchases.

The investors relations page should have that info.

Hope that helps.

Does Scottrade have an option for this? Ironically their advertisement is popping up in this post, but I use them and I think they are fantastic.
