LOL. Me too! I have form-filling and spreadsheet OCD, but when it comes to organization ... well, have you seen that movie Stranger than Fiction? The one where Will Ferrell plays an IRS agent and he goes to audit this girl and she brings out a giant box of all her tax stuff stuffed in it? My files look a little ... a lot ... like hers ...

Thank goodness almost all my business purchases online for the past year has been online so I can just look it all up and print out spic-and-span copies of my receipts.

I handle all the bill paying except the car insurance, car payment and cable which comes out of his personal checking/savings. Sometimes he writes the checks, but only for what I tell him to

When it comes to having the money at hand, it actually depends on who has money. We don't count who pays this or that but we still talk about it. We don't really put much importance to who or how much each pays. When it comes to the one who delivers the payments, still its a give and take situation. We don't give obligations as to not to pressure the other half.

Well,

As I am the only one of my household I do. Even if I ever got married I could not see letting anyone else do it. Thats probably why I am not married!

I do it all. Even as we pay down debt, my husband refuses to even look at what we owe. We started this way when he was in the military and I didn't want every phone conversation from Japan to be about money, and the arrangement stuck. It's easier for me to sneak extra money onto debt or into savings. Plus, I'm the one on these forums and reading books to educate myself on the topic of fiscal responsibility/growing wealth. I love my role.

That's how it works here, too.

I do. It's kind of funny considering my wife's a Cash Manager at a Fortune 500 company. I guess she just has too much of that stuff at work so I get the joy of balancing out our budget and finances in Quicken on a daily basis. I actually enjoy spending time on doing our budget and making sure we fit everything into it. As far as my wife cares we have enough money for her to go to the grocery store to get food or to Babies-r-us to get clothes and other stuff for our young kids. I manage all the bills and transfers to savings.

I handle the bulk of the finances. DH handles investments. We talk about all finances so we both know what's going on, but I actually pay the bills, balance the accounts, etc.

Usually i handle the bills. However, if things begin piling up, my wife generally lends a hand. Recently however, my son has been showing an interest in money matters, so I may consider letting him take over! Of course, under my supervision.
