Free Starter Kit Give Away from Seventh Generation!

I live in New York, which makes for a small (very small) apartment to clean, but a large (very large) dirt problem. For all the people who wisely walk and take the subway, there are still too many that drive in the city. Add to that the diesel exhaust from the army of city buses that roam the street, and you find yourself under assault from outright filthy air.

How filthy? A simple wipe with a rag on the window sill would leave one to believe that a coal mining operation is nearby. So, I would, unquestionably appreciate a little Seventh Generation love to help me fight the good fight.

I have a young daughter, and have made efforts to remove many of the chemicals from our lives. I'd love to try the seventh generation products, as some cleaning jobs just can't be done with baking soda, vinegar, borax and ammonia.

Having asthma it's hard to find good products to clean with, that don't overwhelm with odors that can trigger an attack. I try to use natural products to clean but sometimes they just don't do the job well enough..I have been wanting to try these products, but I can't find them when I remember to look for them in the store..And another reason I'd love to try them..my dog is hypersensitive to anything sprayed, perfume, spray cleaners you name it..Sneezing for minutes the poor thing..

I just moved out of what I hope will be my last apt and will be buying my first house (after many months of living with my parents to save money). I'm planning on only using green cleaners and this would be a fantastic way to start, especially because my budget is going to become pretty small once I have a mortgage payment.

I have spent the last couple years getting back to basics when it comes to the food we eat - whole, natural, and as chemical-free as possible. Now I'm looking to tackle the next challenge - a natural, chemical-free home. I'm tired of feeling woozy after scrubbing down the bathroom with toxic products. I live in St Louis, Missouri, having moved up here after Hurricane Rita to finish college. For all it's charm, it amazes me how dirty of a city St Louis is. While we do have more health food stores where you can get green items than we did when I lived in Texas, I find myself buying cheaper products and then feeling guilty when I clean the house (the roommates are the "just pour the bleach down the drain" kinda people. I just feel guilty knowing it ends up in the water system, and I'd like to change that.

i want to live in a greener household because I would like to live as long as possible, and chemicals in my food and environment are in direct opposition to that.

My husband and I recently moved back to the US from Europe, where we had spent the past 4 years. I was all eager to get off to a fresh start in our new apartment, using eco-friendly cleaners that didn't stink up the whole place and have it smelling like chemicals. The way things worked out, my husband moved back a few months before I did. In one way, it was great, because he did the apartment search and initial move-in, and I just got to arrive and move in. But when he went shopping for the household cleaners, he bought the cheapest, stinkiest stuff he could find! Cheapskates that we are, we insist on using it up, even though the smell of the stuff makes us both feel a bit ill. The worst part is that my husband uses this as an excuse not to clean the bathroom...grr! If I had some non-chemically, Seventh-Generation bathroom cleaners, maybe I could convince my husband to take a turn scrubbing the bowl and the tub. But the only way it will work is if we get them for free, since we have cleaners sitting around already....

I have switched, gradually, to natural and green cleaning products in my house. It has significantly helped with my asthma and cut down my migraines considerably, I haven't had one in a couple of months! I have ferrets and love having a cleaner that will clean well but I don't have to worry if they want to "help" their mommy clean :-)I also would love the starter kit, but have to admit that I already use just about everything in the kit.

The reason for my post is to help out those that don't win. The seventh generation website has coupons you can print out to save a little money. And, if you can't find their products in any stores, you can find them online at places like drugstore.com. I have also found that the all purpose spray works great just about everywhere, so you don't need to buy all of them to make the switch. Happy cleaning!

Working in transportation, I'm always in contact with exhaust fumes or the dirt that our building kicks up. This isn't even including the hazardous material packages that come through here as well.

I try to minimize my risk of exposure as much as possible: eating organic foods, drinking pure water, etc. When I clean with "conventional" products, the smell alone leave me nauseated. In addition, I keep reading about the ill effects that conventional cleaners can have on a human's health (and pets') and it's just awful. I'm not a a germ-a-phobe, but I want to have a clean place.

Safe products are worth the extra money you pay. It's just sad that the things that are good for you are so much more expensive.

Going Green isn't always cheap. We try our best to clean kid friendly since their hands and mouths are on everything...in our house anyway! With an eye towards green this sounds like a great fit!

lol - what no toilet paper?

I want to go green both for my health and the health of the environment. I don't like the idea of using toxic chemicals to clean my home when it's the place I have to live and the place where my cats have to live. I am forever concerned about using a product that might harm my pets.

I'm 22 years old and my girlfriend and I are moving in together into a new apartment. We will be struggling with cash for a little while as we both are commuting one hour in different directions. She will be commuting to Manhattan and I will be commuting into Connecticut. On top of all this we are both still going to school.

We are both very into living a clean and healthy lifestyle, however that lifestyle is a very pricey one especially when were just getting on our feet. Anything helps us and this cleaning kit would help us both SO much especially in the beginning of our apartment when we are cleaning like maniacs to get it to the level we want.

I've been eyeing the Seventh Generation cleaning stuff for some time now; I've been on a do-it-yourself and do-it-right campaign for a few years, which has meant everything from disciplining myself to cook more at home, baking my own bread, growing my summer vegetables, learning to sew - it goes on and on. Over the last few months, I've been taking the hardest step, so far. While gardening and sewing and even cooking can really be thought of as hobbies (even if there's a nice tangible positive outcome), cleaning my house is a chore-list that's hard to love. Still, I get closer every day to my interim ideal (no trash, no clutter), and I'm ready in about three quarters of my house to turn an eye toward those previously unattainable heights: less dust, clean floors, washed baseboards, shiny mirrors, and a tub that I scrub more than once an eon. The only trouble with moving on to tackle this step is my hands. I have a bad reaction to some sort of industrial cleaning solution that makes my hands itch, then swell up to about twice their size. (My doctor helpfully recommends avoiding those cleaners - but they're in use at many big-box stores, which has sent me dashing out mid-shopping-trip more than a few times.) In any case, I can control what I use at home, and I'd like to. I just worry about sinking a lot of money into something, only to find out that it still causes the hands-swelling issue. Getting a starter kit free would be simply killer.

I have been trying this year to "go green." I think it's important for everyone to do something whether on a small scale or a large scale. I would like my child to grow up in a responsible world that cares about its future.

My wife and I have been transitioning to a more enviromentally friendly existence and have been removing synthetic chemicals and harmful processed foods from our diets for a while. We would love to try the Seventh Generation product line because this would help us make that extra step to really remove toxic chemicals from our home and make a clean environment for our new baby.

Since having children, we have definitely had an increased awareness and desire to go green, not only with cleaning materials but also with foods. It's amazing what having children does for one's consciousness.

We live in SW Florida, on a little plot of land carved out of the Everglades. We have the most beautiful cypress stand in our front yard. Our backyard is grass and all sorts of trees, air plants, birds, deer. Just beautiful.

We'd like to keep it that way. I try to use green products where ever available.

I live in a small apartment and have 2 young cats (1 year and 8 months) and if you have cats you know they get into everything, especially if there is a broom, rag or mop involved. I worry about wiping the counters down with harsh chemicals and them jumping on it and then licking their feets. The apartment is not well ventilated either. I love seventh generation products (i've gotten free samples before) but they are a little pricey for my budget!

My reason for going green is simple, two young sons that makes tons of messes. I need to keep my home clean without putting toxins and dangerous chemicals around them.

My boyfriend and I butt heads when it comes to cleaning. Not only who's going to do what, but what we clean with. I'm of the mind that the simpler, the better...why use extra chemicals when we don't have to? He's of the opposite mind. The closer you are to passing out after inhaling chemical fumes, the cleaner the surface is.

I am using vinegar and baking soda in the bathrooms and kitchen and make my own laundry soap from washing soda, fels naphtha, and borax. I am on my last bottles of dish soap and dishwasher soap and have been researching what will take their places. Like others in this post, I do a lot to be green and could do more and would love some cleaners that I can feel guilt-free using (except, of course, for all the emissions that shipping them to me will generate...). Just thought I'd throw my name in the ring, though seems like there are others who have commented who could use the give-away more than I. I will end up buying 7th Generation using the great coupons on their website anyway!

In December, my husband and I adopted three boys - aged 10, 8 and 4. We always lived a "green" lifestyle but adding three kids into the mix has meant more mess, more cleaning, more scrubbing and more consumption over all.

We've been teaching the kids about the environment - why our family doesn't use certain products or chemicals, for example - and we've been making our own cleaning products whenever possible. But time, of course, is now at a premium!

The addition of kids to our home has made us MORE convinced of the importance of going green and teaching the kids how to care for their world in a responsible way.

I love the effort put forth on going green, or as I prefer, going greener. Of late, I've been doing more and more habit changes to increase my green-ness. This line of product would be great for the home cleaning routines, where I would like to reduce the amounts of toxicity with the current cleaners. Even going back to standard, old time, cleaners - bleach, borax, vinegar - has helped me in reducing the amount of in-house aubergines.

I’m trying to convert my wife to a more green way of cleaning. One shouldn’t have to wait for naptime to clean because a kid can’t be exposed the fumes. If it isn’t good for children to smell, it’s probably not good for adults to smell it either. Lightheadedness is not an acceptable side effect of cleaning.

My husband and I often debate about the household cleaning products we use. I want to use natural products that will keep our home clean AND non-toxic, but my products don't clean as well as the harsh chemicals he likes to use.

I would love to try Seventh Generation, because I want to show hubby that green can mean clean!

I've been making baby steps toward going green for about the last year. How can you not? If Earth's poor health doesn't get you going, then your own health should! Isn't it a clue when you have to open the bathroom window just to clean? Or maybe you enjoy passing out in the bathtub from the fumes?

I want my family to stay healthy. Its hard enough fighting the battle outside, why add to the problems by cleaning with products that are not clean?

I've looked into Seventh Generation before, but the cost has always been a bit steep. With a starter kit like this, I'm over the hurdle and I'd only have to buy refills. Yes!

I was introduced to a greener lifestyle by my wife's crunchy mom group. Once I realized how economical green living could be, I was on board. Call me a pragmatist, but I absolutely refused to be green unless it made financial sense to me. Now, with two kids at home, I find that making small changes, like buying and bulk and reusing shopping bags is not only greener, its much cheaper. Not only do I save more money by going green, I think my family is healthier now because of our lifestyle changes. And I know we're in better financial shape.

I would love to give Seventh Generation a try, I've seen it in stores, but worried if it would be effective and worth the money. I've been cleaning with baking soda, vinegar and the like for a couple of months now, but I wouldn't mind a change. :) (I really can't handle strong smells, and we all know what vinegar smells like!) I've found I feel better and get sick less often with natural cleaners and food, I'm still trying to convince my husband and free cleaners would go a long way.

I'm trying to be as green as I can on an entry-level salary: with energy saver bulbs, canvas bags at the grocery store, avoiding things packed in styrafoam and other nonrecylable packaging, and giving up driving a car regularly (yes, even in the winter, I trudge to work on two feet!) As someone just out of college and living on her own, I have the atlas complex of some young adults my age, and want to do all I can to make my comfortable life comfortable for the environment, too.

I have recently become an activist for Green Living. I have made the switch to CFL's, I turn off and unplug all appliances every day, I even make a point to have at least one day out of the week where I don't drive anywhere. I have two kids, including a five-week-old baby. I want the planet to be in better shape for them than it is now! I am "green" in a lot of ways -- cloth diapers being the most obvious example -- and mostly use either homemade cleaners or Method brand ones. I know Method is a better choice than a lot of other cleaners but I haven't tried Seventh Generation. I'd like to, though.

We live in ex-oil country. It seems everything here is in the process of 're-greening' itself except homes. I've tried to go strictly green in our cleaning. Its not even hard. But its hard to get everyone in my home to get on-board. They think I'm a nut because I make most of my own cleaners. But I worry about my son developing health problems as I did and have decided to stick to my guns. Unfortunately, not many stores around here even HAVE eco-friendly cleaners. I can't get those toss in laundry packets anywhere within 100 miles. I finally DID see some green-cleaners at my local WalMart. Pleasant surprise. I figured to start small - buy one thing green/commercially and show family that it works then move on to another. But I'm just getting started!

I've got some weird skin sensitivities as well as reactions to some scents. I'm also cheap, especially when it comes to trying new stuff. But, if it's free, I'm willing to give it a go and see if these products are something that work and won't bother my weirdness.

Just like a few other people, I have a year old son and since he came into our lives we have been switching over to organic food. My reason behind wanting the product? Well, my family is a combination of frugal and eco-friendly. Amazingly, as you have stated in posts before, these two ideals go hand-in-hand.

We have a young son and a dog and we don't like to use harsh chemicals in or around our house. So this product fits the eco-friendly side.

However, we budget tightly so bringing new things in, even eco-friendly cleaners, doesn't seem like something we would do, because of the cost and the fact that we can get more cleaning done from a big bottle of homemade product.

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to clean house so because, uh, some, people out there in our nation don't have Seventh Generation cleaning products and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to clean our homes with green products and not harmful products.

We like to clean greenly because we're concerned about renewable resources and clean air. Also, even though our dog is good and doesn't get into things he shouldn't, one never knows when he might have a bad day.

I grew up and lived as a creature of conviencence. I didn't recycle, I used a mess of throw away products, drove everywhere and I didn't really think too much on eco-friendly topics. I lived in a relatively rural area with tons of nature all around me which I took for granted. Last year I moved across the U.S. on my own to a densely populated area and a paradigm shift started in my head. The town offered curbside recycling bins since the land fill was ...well full. The more I looked at my garbage, the less I actually needed to put into a landfill. Most of my items were recyclables or compost goodness. The next thing I did was buy a hybrid car and commute with my fiance to work (again, saving cash on gas and putting less smog into the air).

I'm now taking a look at what products I bring into my home. More specifically cleaning product for the bathroom to tackle the ferrous tinted hard water that supposedly this town is infamous for. While commercial sprays work, the back of my mind keeps saying there should be a more natural solution that doesn't involve chemicals that make my eyes water that ultimately end up back in the ground.

I've tried their dishwasher detergent, but it didn't work very well. We try to clean with vinegar or lemon juice, its easier on the kids, but somethings require something stronger than elbow grease. I'd love to give it a test drive.

I have always wanted to be green but I am addicted to convience. My fiance and I recycle, and we have started making energy changes to been more green and save money. I need to make changes to the products I buy to get chemicals out of my life and my house.

Reason enough to pursue green products would be to keep contaminants out of my house for the sake of my pets, but the big picture calls for keeping pollution out of waterways, etc. I have resolved to use the best, most natural, least harmful products, even if it costs more.

I'm fairly new to going green, but these products seem great! We suffer from allergies and migraines in my house and I am anxious to see what a difference these green cleaning supplies can make.

I am in a really difficult financial situation at the moment... my allergies are my main reason for going/living green. I try to use mainly products that I can make myself. Sometimes difficult, but always worth it.

I would LOVE to go green but just need that push to do it. We have a VERY tight budget for monthly expenses and i am always leary or buying expensive cleaning products that claim to be just as good but with less chemicals because i'm not just sure they will work for us. I was the same way with cloth diapering but one day a friend lent me her stash of small cloth and we have been using cloth ever since!

We have two cats - both very curious when we're cleaning around the house. I am much more comfortable using cleaners without the harsh chemicals with the "boys" around. I also have a passion for cooking, and with a small kitchen, every surface in the kitchen is fair game for contact with food and needs to be kept clean and chemical-free.

Companies that I support with my $$$ are those whose missions are aligned with my life philosphies. I don't have to think twice about using Seventh Generation products.

I use vinegar and peroxide to clean our home now, maybe adding some new green cleaners will encourage the boys to wipe off a door or counter.

I can't wait to try your products. I believe in using natural products where ever possible. I love the idea of trying out all your products before I buy, so I can make a truly informed, green consumer decision!

I have just finished treatment for cancer. In the hope of preventing a recurrence, I'm working hard to eliminate any and all unnecessary chemicals from my life, which includes cleaning products. I've tried to use the simplest cleaners I can find, but have had problems with their effectiveness or with the smell (I can't handle the smell of vinegar.) This kit would be an awesome introduction into green cleaning, and get me further down the path in my quest for a healthier lifestyle for both me and the earth.

I'll be trying the 7th Gen products no matter what, but I looooove the free stuff, so winning would just make things easier. Since I started tracking my spending at the beginning of the year, I've realized that I can afford to allocate a bit more money to organic groceries and greener solutions that have higher up-front costs but much greater long-term payoffs.

I have made some greenish changes to my lifestyle this year. Started carrying cloth bag wherever I shop, Reduced consumption of paper napkins and started extensive use of cloth napkins. This kit would be the next big change that I can make.

My reason for wanting to win? (Other than the sheer delight of FINALLY winning something?) Knowing that these products will make a difference in the lives of my family. Echoing other posters, it's difficult to try and run a more 'natural' household and stay within the limits of the budget. I have to decide between the organic milk for my son vs. the organic cleaner for my toilets, but the milk wins out since he doesn't drink the toilet water. I also want to be confident in the safety of the products I use while I teach my children to clean house along with me.
I want to leave the world better than it was for me, and Seventh Generation products can help me do just that.

I have been trying to implement "green" into my life as much as possible, my husband kicking and screaming the entire way. He doesn't believe in it's importance. I don't have the funds to just run out and replace everything I own, so I purchase eco items as I need them. I have not ran out of cleaning supplies yet (thanks, Costco), but I would love to start using green cleaning supplies immediately.

I appreciate that Seventh Generation is only trying to popularize their products, but what is the message here? Do I really need to consistently buy six different products? Bottles are recyclable, but what about the energy and raw materials required to make, transport, and recycle them? And these products are by no means cheap either.

Most of the functionality of the set can be achieved with baking soda and vinegar. The only products you really need are the toilet bowl cleaner, and, regrettably, paper towels.

I want to reduce the chemicals we use in our home. It's better for my family and for the planet, what's not to love?

I would love to go green for the obvious reasons of helping our environment, but also for my children. My two children both have severe asthma and any harsh chemicals give them awful attacks. My daughter also has a horrible case of eczema and we try to go as natural as we can with everything because chemicals really break her skin out.

I am going green, because I am sick of paying for chemicals and water in all the other products out there. There has to be a better way!

My boyfriend and I are dedicated to making our home a greener home not just for the health of the environment, but for our own. Anything more beneficial to the environment that does not use harsh chemicals is also more beneficial to us, and as our household grows, I also look to the health concerns of our pets and future children. Why not go green? Its definately a better decision than poisoning ourselves and the planet!

My whole outlook on cleaning supplies has changed since I discovered the Whole Foods supermarket and other facts on going green and global warning.
For the most part, I was always sick of breaking out after cleaning my bathroom wiht Clorox and other cleaning supplies. They have all of these ingredients that you can't prounounce and really stink.
Also its really just a preference. Since I changed the way I shop for food it was only right that I did the same for my cleaning supplies.

I have a new little bundle of joy on the way (next month) and my husband and I have been using this change of life to jump start our green brains. We've opted for cloth diapers and have done away with traditional cleaning and hygiene products in favor of more natural alternatives. It's a learning process, but we really want to have a healthy home for our baby and minimize the impact our growing family will have on the environment.

For the health of all my family members including my doggie who likes to lick anything and everything around the house. also for future members of my family.

I have wanted to try Seventh Generation, but don't have room in my budget. Instead a use a lot of vinegar and lemon juice, but they just don't work really well on the bathroom or kitchen counter. I've been trying to use all natural products in my home since moving in 6 months ago but have yet to try this brand. I'd love to though -- I don't want any more toxic chemicals that I already get living and working in an urban area!

I am activly turning towards greener ways of living in all aspects of my life, as I have become an adult and learned more and more of my role in the change and the stewardship of our planet.

I have a one year old son and I've been slowly replacing my toxic cleaning products with enivironmentally friendly ones, for his health and safety and so I don't have to breathe in those awful fumes anymore! I still have a ways to go, so this would help me clean all of my old products out in one fell swoop! (I'd dispose of them properly, of course) and then we'd have a clean, green home for our son to explore!

I am trying to go green while on a very limited budget. This is difficult.

Cleaning products in particular I have to be very careful with in my home. I have 2 rescued parrots and parrots are notoriously sensitive to harsh chemicals and can be killed by cleaning product fumes.

It would be great to have an alternative to vinegar and water to clean with and by trying these products I would be able to advise other socially conscious friends as well as bird-lovers.

Why am I green ?

It's that triple combo of
(1) helping the planet 'cause it's my responsibility
(2) saving some money
(3) helps me keep fit & feel better about myself (e.g. walking to work)

They key is to do as many small things as you can - they add up to make a big difference !

I'm passionate about it, but don't push green on others - I'm just happy to help others get on board when they're ready.

At times the smell of a toxic bathroom cleaner can give me a headache. I'm looking forward to starting to clean green.

I have various allergies and all the new chemicals in our cleaners make me feel sick. Plus I care about the environment so anyway I can reduce my footprint is a plus. I've been eyeing the Seventh Gen stuff at my local Henry's and would love to try it out.

I'm allergic to everything. Lysol, 409. etc., will send me into asthma attacks, not to mention cause me to break out in hives.

Anything that can do that can't possibly be good for me or our environment. In addition to helping me be a clean person without allergy attacks I think it's important that we each do what we can to help protect the environment.

Unfortunately, good organic cleaning products are expensive.

I'm a grad student on a student budget, so a gift like this would be wonderous!

My local grocery store has just started carrying these products, but I've been a little reluctant to spend the premium price on a product I've never tried. I would love the opportunity to experience the Seventh Generation products without making a significant financial investment. I'm not against spending more for quality products, but I don't want to be disappointed with the results.

We have been making an effort to go green with cleansers for over a year now but have found none that we truly were pleased with. Our daughter has recurrent infections and allergies. And we have 2 dogs, one of whom has allergies. It would be in the best interest of our entire family to be "cleaning green"!

I would love the opportunity to try these products!

We've been making slow progress toward becoming a greener household. We've gone from a two-car to a single-car family, we've found a way to compost for our patio garden, we keep our thermostat set low in colder months and don't use the A/C at all in the summer. We've been making personal finance changes too to keep more green for ourselves by consuming less and have switched from plastic to reusable bags for grocery trips.

But when it comes to keeping the house clean... it's hard to make the switch. Sweetie has allergies, the cat has asthma, and I'm sensitive to perfumes and soaps. We've tried to go green in the past with cleaning products and found it took a lot more elbow grease (and more frequent application of said elbow grease) to get even mediocre results and the products themselves nearly made the effort cost prohibitive.

I would love the opportunity to try going green again with these new products--especially without the initial financial outlay.

I would love the green supplies because for one my mother is allergic to the harsher products and I have very sensite skin and can't use the harsh chemicals either. It is very hard to find good green products and would like to find a brand we can stick with.

I have two wee ones, ages 4 and 1, and I am doing whatever I can to keep their exposure to toxins to a minimum. There's just no need whatsoever for chemical anti-bacterial everything!

I am a founding member of the "Green Team" at out church. My job is to help our congregation find ways to go green. I have a table with ideas, resources and products that I recommend. It would be great to have the 7th generation products to display at my green table and to donate them to the church for their use.

Those of us at The Evergreen State College are called "Greeners" (the nickname for Washington is also the Evergreen State). So I'm already a Greener. I use the Seventh Generation dishwashing liquid and love it, so I'd be tickled "green" to take the remaining products for a whirl. My boyfriend and I have recently begun testing DIY recipes for green cleaners (1001+ ways to use vinegar and tea tree oil, etc.), but I'd love to have a stash of Seventh Generation products on hand as well!

My grandkids were asking me the other day why I use different soap than their other grandparents. They were noticing my Seventh Generation dishwashing liquid. We sat down with a picture of our family tree and I explained how each generation makes an impact on the next seven generations... and we all must save the environment so their grandkids can be healthy on planet Earth.

Our cats are eight kinds of lovely, and twenty kinds of messy. When 401-style cleanups became a daily sort of thing, I suddenly started wondering what, exactly, I was spritzing all over the carpet (and bed, and couch, and walls...). When there's a sale we pick up 7th Gen cleaners; when there's not, we rely on the old stand-bys: in combination, vinegar, borax, water, and eucalyptus oil will pick up a not unreasonable percentage of the stains and odors. 7th Gen is better, though.

This would be fantastic to add to my cleaning closet. I just disposed of all the harsh chemicals in my house and planned on replacing them based on need. Of course, by winning this contest, I would need to wait until I needed them! Thanks for the great contest!

I love the dish soap, but my local grocery store doesn't carry the other 7th Gen products. Help a girl out--it'll save me the carbon footprint of a 40 mile drive each way!

It's my year of composting, gardening, recycling, going paperless on my bills, working from home and improving the energy efficiency of my old house without going broke. I've got 1200 square feet of 50 year old hardwood to refinish with beeswax and elbow grease, so save me some time and effort with the shopping.

We are going green because we are outdoor enthusiasts, naturalists, etc. and believe that wise stewardship of the environment is only reasonable.

I hate using caustic chemical cleaners. I feel sick every time I see some of that stuff go down the drain...or after I grab a glass of water, having watched it go...down the drain, back into the water supply... How dumb is that?

Since moving to the Bay Area, my boyfriend and I ridded ourselves of our cars (we opted for mass transit), got an apartment half the size as our old one, turn off the heater at night (we cuddle instead), started recycling nearly everything, and started buying organic food, products, and clothing. We look forward to become more and more green every chance we get. I think there is an immediate benefit to using "green" cleaners: less exposure to scary, toxic, possibly cancer-causing chemicals. I'm tired of being surrounded by weird and unnatural things.

Over the last few years, more and more people I know have been diagnosed with cancer, infertility, and many other medical conditions that used to be rare- but seem to be terribly prevalent now.

As someone who already suffers from some bizarre heriditary medical conditions, I don't want to actually develop those that could have been preventable. As a result, my husband and I are slowly trying to cut the huge amount of toxins, chemicals, preservatives, and over-processed junk that seem to be everywhere in American life.

We've been making a big effort to going green, for our own health, and to help maintain the world for the children we one day hope to have.

Little boys who suck on toilet bowls. I'd rather they not be sucking on bleach. I'd also prefer my toilet to be sanitized.

I want to have a greener house just for the simple reason that having a greener home would encourage me to make my entire life greener. If you can make the little space you have on this earth greener, then it will make a difference. and if everyone did that we could reduce the rate of greenhouse gases increasing.

I want to go green because all those chemicals that are in the products really are bad news! I've got two dogs and two cats and it's important to me that I make the change so that all those dangerous chemicals are gone from my home. Pets get into everything and I'd hate to hurt them by accident. I'd also like to make my footprint smaller.

The grocery store I frequent has gotten better about stocking recycled paper towels, but even that is sporadic. Forget about finding anything green on the cleaning shelves. I would love to try Seventh Generation's cleaning products, and if I like them, I suppose I could order them online. More of a pain, but my lefty pinko liberal conscience would be assuaged.

One of the biggest reasons I started going green is because so many of the harsh chemical cleaners actually make me ill. I get headaches and nausea from them. I've been trying out different products to reduce allergens and have a healthier home.

I work in a plant that produces graphite using byproducts of petroleum refining. That's enough petrolem use on my head--I don't want to have to use even more petroleum products at home.

Everything I own has a coating of gray dust as a result of being around graphite all the time, and I'm probably breathing all sorts of nasty things at work. I don't need to be breathing nasty things at home as well.

I want to "Go Green" because contrary to Valentine's Day Wisdom, green is the color of love, not red. Going Green is an expression of love of self, family, home and planet. Seventh Generation products provide a healthy home evironment in which a vibrant homemaker can care for and love her family while having the least negative impact on the world she want to leave to her children's children. I do care about the tiny plant life in our water environment that are killed by toxic run off from my dishwasher or laundry detergent. I want to "Go Green" to express my love for the tiniest microbe to my two sweet sons I clean up after, to my loving planet earth.

There are so many reasons why I finally decided to go green with my housekeeping. The first - our health. I'm a chemist, and I know that some of the chemicals that are in cleansers we use with extreme caution in the lab! Why do I want to come into contact with more than I already do? It makes a big difference in how I feel after I clean our house.

Also, the environment. I am concerned more and more each day with the amount of chemicals disposed of in an unsafe manner. Again, many of the chemicals found in cleansers at home we must dispose of in the lab as hazardous - not down the drain, which is how they are treated at home!

I have already started switching slowly over to green cleaners, but haven't yet tried 7th Generation. I would love to test it out, and finish convincing myself this is the way to go!

So,I have been making necessary changes in my life and my boyfriends life. Little things, recycling, reusing, turning the water off when I brush my teeth. Ya know, THE little THINGS. We can all do them. Then there's the bigger challenges some of them kindof personal to me. Like giving up meat, chicken, and other things that cluck, moo, or oink. Fish don't really make noise so I guess their ok. I kid. Anywho, I believe it's important to cleanse your body and house of the toxins. Purge what isn't necessary if our lives and homes and make room for smarter things and changes that will make not only our lives easier, but healthier for us and the environment. Because let's face it, we won't be around for ever. I can honestly say with all the trips to the market and Whole Foods, I have yet to try your products. I would be MUCH more likely to try it for free. I'll probably go out and buy the napkins now. Peace.

I've always tried to keep a clean house. Lately with the buzz about the environment becoming more and more delicate, the guilt has set in, and I have resisted using my standard dollar store cleaning items.

In doing so, not only is my house a lil messier, but I've taken steps to ensure that my contribution to the environment is one that is less angst filled, and more earth friendly. I recycle everything and anything, I purchased earth friendly trashbags that will break down faster, changed laundry detergent, am tryinig to grow my own veggies, and have cut back on heating and am looking into purchasing a hybrid car...quite frankly the list is still growing but it means the world (literally)to me to see that I do my part.

I'd love to try new products that will help me feel like I am doing my part to save the planet that I once neglected. In doing so, going green will mean that my baby. and her babies might live to see it in all it's splendid glory.

Our drinking water here in MI comes from groundwater. There is good possibility that toxic chemicals from run-offs from our household wastes and cleaning products is polluting these precious groundwater sources.

We want to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene in our homes (Go White!!) and protect the environment and our natural resources at the same time (Go Green!!)

I have stopped using bleach and other chemicals in favor of baking soda and vinegar. I live in a rural area that doesn't carry seventh generation products, but I would love to try them.

I would love to go green with my cleaning because, well, I've been going green ever since my kids were born. I'm so much more conscious now about environmental issues than before I became a mom. I know it sounds trite, but I want to do whatever I can to make the world a better place for them. That's just what moms do.
