I love the idea of the fresh laundry scent! :) (I have to use unscented soap due to allergies -- this way I can fake it!)

Ever wonder why so many of the eco products out there are only geared towards us ladies or the home front? Not that I'm ungrateful, mind you. I've just often wondered why researching green products for men yielded such meager results. So I was tickled to discover the Eco Candle Company's man candles.
Called “mandles”, they come in a variety of scents men of all ages would be interested in. (including a beer scent I'm quite certain any frat boy would consider an interesting novelty) While the concepts and scents list had caught my attention, I was curious as to how the products themselves held up. When I contacted the owner Shelly Nystrom, she was happy to forward a couple of samples so I could review them for Wise Bread readers. The two I test drove?
The tree hugger mandle.
This cedar and musk scented candle comes in a four ounce silver tin, and permeates our entire downstairs from its perch atop our kitchen stove. We've been testing it for two days now. The first for 2-3 hours in the evening, and last night for nearly five hours while we had company. There's still at least half of the candle remaining. They retail for eight dollars.
The travel tin.
These sell for five dollars, and come in a compact two ounce tin easily tucked in a daypack, backpack, or rolling luggage for a romantic weekend on the road. Also, city dwellers may find this a convenient size to have available if they are invited for dinner and want to travel light on the subway. Got an after work date guys? If she's cooking, showing up with atmosphere and a bottle of wine or a rose is a nice way to go. The scent I test drove was clean laundry day, a crisp cotton type of smell that was fresh and light.
The company's candles are all hand poured soy with non-lead wicks. They have other interesting products available as well. Personal verdict? Worth checking out.
